Placeholder Discount Increased to 30% Off Select Sailings

Yes, the Fantasy is more suited for adults. Did they reduce the pool deck for adults? Ughh.
Satellite falls area has been reduced. Its the secondary adults pool area where you dip your feet in water. Some people rave about it but we never used it. The main adults pool area is unchanged. Although that gets quite busy so need to get there early or late to enjoy properly.

We have a placeholder for two staterooms we purchased in Sept, I am excited to see what the itineraries are. While poking around the DCL site I noticed that they had also expanded the 30% off guaranteed stateroom offerings and was able to rebook an upcoming cruise for a week earlier which saved us $800. I didn't think we would ever see this for sailings out of San Diego, but the one for Mar 2-6 2026 is ~$2,300 for a VGT, that's a great deal.

I am concerned about the vibration issues. Absolutely. But what do you mean that the Dream was too on trend when it opened?
Just makesure you dont have a cabin in the aft on the fantasy. If you do you wont sleep well. Otherwise you wont notice it much except in the theatre. Some of the acts on our ship tried to make fun of the vibration as it was crazy in the theatre at times.

If the Wish prices was more in line, like the Dream were when it was first launched, Disney wouldn't be having to discount the crap out of it, right?
I don't think we can compare 2024 or current Wish pricing with 2011 Dream pricing. DCL pricing has literally skyrocketed for all ships in the past 10-15 years. It has far out-paced inflation or what others do as regular annual increases, even before Covid this was true.

Yeah, but there was a large jump when the Wish replaced the Dream.

I’ve been on the Dream since they took part of Satellite Falls for the concierge area and honestly I didn’t really notice they’d reduced the space, apart from the barriers.
Same. Honestly most of the changes had very little impact on most guests. The one that did? The funnel space being taken from Edge and Vibe being cut up to make space for them. I know a few parents who do not want their tweens in a club so close to the teens. The separation and distance is important to some families (especially those who are still unhappy that the Kids Club no longer goes till 12)

We're not cruisers, we cruise DCL but we're really not interested in other lines. We loved the Treasure, I did enjoy the Wish but my husband doesn't like 3/4 night cruises if we can avoid it.

With 3 ships homeporting in PC, the Wish will be a harder sell with it's 3/4 night itineraries.

We're back to the parks in 2026, as of right now we're not cruising until 2027 on the Dream. I went with the Dream because even with a placeholder the Treasure was just a little more expensive than I wanted to commit to spending. And the Dream has a St Maarten-San-Juan-CC itinerary on a 7 night with 3 sea days that piqued our interest.
Is This the February 2027 one ? We booked that itinerary on the Dream. Was really good price with the placeholder and a unique for DCL ( at least unique to DCL recently )

Yeah, but there was a large jump when the Wish replaced the Dream.
Ya, Disney didn't have to do that. They didn't with the release of the Dream. But it was greed that made that jump occur. Or the pandemic that did it. Disney used the excuse of the pandemic to do a lot of things they had been secretly wanting to do regardless.

My family just booked the Treasure for April 2026 and there is no discount for it but that's ok. I am saving money on this trip by not going to the theme parks like we usually do. Last year, our theme park days were more expensive than the cruise. Historically we do 4 day at the park with fast pass and then go on our cruise.

Sundeck-shade…. Hmmm?
I like being outside near the pool watching the ocean but my skin rivals Snow White and skin cancer (melanoma specifically) runs in the family. Not everyone wants to be in direct sun which is why DCL has umbrellas for the lounge chairs at Lookout and Castaway

Assuming the cruise is the end of April and not around Easter I would keep an eye out for Restricted Fare discounts (if you are okay with letting DCL assign your room). I think chances are highly likely they will be happening.

It's going to get worse for DCL. They are going to have to adjust to what is coming.

For what it's worth, the 2025 4 night Magic that sailed on Easter Monday had excellent *GT availability. I was shocked as I've always assumed DCL cruises were out of our budget with a Spring Break that goes from Good Friday through the week after Easter. After we booked, we saw tons of other folks jumping on the last minute deal, too.

Sundeck-shade…. Hmmm?
Not sure what shade you are referring to on the Treasure. There is a tiny bit by the bar, but we don’t sit around and drink all day. We like loungers with actual shade - which isn’t offered on the Treasure on the adult only sundeck. As someone with a history of skin cancer, I don’t play around with full on sun all day.
