Place to rest at AKL before Boma dinner?

The day we go to AK, I have an 5:00 ADR for Boma. We will still be recovering from jet lag, so early dinner, but we may also be tired and probably DS3 will fall asleep in the afternoon. It will be jUne - hot. If we go out to AKL an hour or so early, is there a place I could sit around for a while holding a hopefully sleeping Ds without looking like a loiterer? (staying at poly.). Is there a good place DGrandma can take DS12 and 10 to explore? We've never been to AKL at all - obviously.

The lobby is full of comfortable couches and chairs and the kids will love exploring all of the lookout areas where the animals are.

Oh sure. There are lots of places you can sit and hold the little one. There's actually lots of places, I would just ask someone when you come into the hotel lobby and they will point you in the direction of the chairs. In fact there are lots of chairs right in the lobby when you come in. I think there are rocking chairs somewhere in front of windows over looking part of the Savannah. :goodvibes There's also the bar that sits over BOMA's and it has a few places you can sit and hold the baby, it's not a "bar," feeling kind of place so I don't think it will be weird to take your child there. I wish I had better directions for you.

Being on property at a resort in WDW is very different than being at any other hotel. :goodvibes WDW is a place where people are more than welcome, I know of people who are "regulars," if you will, who come to the Grand Floridian lobby to listen to the piano player quite frequently. These are well known regulars by the people who run the GF and they have no problem with this, at all.
Besides...it's not like your sitting in a lobby just for the sake of sitting there, you have a purpose and I don't think there will be anything wrong with you being there.
Have a magical time and don't worry about one thing while you there except how much fun your going to have. :woohoo:

The lobby is an excellent place to kick back/relax...however, I don't know about a child sleeping there. It is a bit on the noisy side and with the high ceilings, the sound echoes. I found the chairs to be comfortable, but the sofas are not. AKL is a great resort to explore.

Enter the lobby, walk past the front desk staying on the left side. You will see a sitting area that also has doors leading to a savannah viewing area. I saw this area to be relatively "quiet" everytime I was there.
A very nice place to sit, inside or out:thumbsup2

As the other have said, there are lots of comfy places to sit. I agree with the Sunset Savannah overlook area as the best though.

You won't be looked at funny. Lots of people hang out in the lobby all the time.

Thanks for all the advice. I will look forward to a relaxing pre dinner rest there then. Maybe DGrandma and I can even have a glass o wine ;)

This is a nice spot. I was also thinking of the outdoor area you can enter on the right side. It's covered and out of the way and quiet. LOTS of places to comfortably "loiter" ;) at AKL -- and lots of places to explore too!

Off to the right, there is a covered area with rocking chairs. So nice and comfy out there.

The lobby has nice area to chill out and after the check in desk on the left side there is a quite area you can go. Before we had dinner at Boma there are activities for the kids around the resort (ask the front desk for kids activities). After dinner there is storytime and a musical parade in the lobby (my son loved it...he wanted to do this almost every night). The activities for the kids are great b/c they earn a bead and then they make a necklace out of it.
