Place to find a cheap IPOD?

I thought I had to have one and then when I did I found out that I just don't use it!

I guess I like to listen to my music without things in my ears.

Oh well, I'm sure I can sell it on ebay without a problem.

Yeah, I think that's one of the reasons I wouldn't use it. :scratchin Then I would spend even more money to be able to listen to it in my car or at home not just with headphones.

OT, I got caught up in Palm Pilot rage a few years ago and once I got one I was like "Now what do I do with this thing?" I never used it and returned it to the store. Technology and I just don't get along. :p

I opened a Target charge, which got me 15% off the price of the IPod. Otherwise, you'll rarely get much of a discount on those... :sunny:

Back in June, we bought two 4 gig nanos (non video) for our kids.

We bought them off of Ebay. We paid $127 for one, and $160 for the other. These are normally $250.

I could have gotten the nanos for $200 with my educator discount but this was better deal. Both nanos were working, and there was still a long warranty on them (they owners had bought an applecare contract and we transferred it over)

What's nice about buying it from the Apple website is that you can get the education discount, free shipping, and free engraving. We got one for DD and had her name and phone number engraved on the back. Of course, this will only help if she loses it and someone that's honest finds it!

Also, Key Bank is running a promo right now where you can get a free Nano if you open a checking account. Don't know if it's something that can be done from out of state, but maybe someone that really wants one can open the account just long enough to qualify for the promo and then close it.

Here's the link:

if you are just using it to go to the gym, i'd suggest getting a shuffle. in all honesty, the shuffle is the only ipod i use anymore (i also have an older version 10gb, but its too bulky to lug around). you can get them for a lot cheaper than the larger ones with the screens.

sending you a pm. hmm.. you don't have pm...

Where's the cheapest place for the shuffle? Sounds like what I want..since I don't want bulky.

Sorry, I'm turning it back on. I forgot I turned it off.

I was wondering about the shuffle. The more I thought about it I really don't need very many songs especially if I'll only be using it for the gym. Thanks for the advice! :goodvibes

I can't use a shuffle, my iPod is loaded too electically - it doesn't work to work out to Bach, or to relax to Pet Shop Boys. I could load it for purpose, but I wouldn't.

If I were going to bother with something shuffle like, it would be a knockoff, you can get MP3 players $30 - (the Napster) or a Shuffle for $70

I just got an email that Apple is supposedly lowering their prices on the refurbished iPods. I say "supposedly" because I haven't double checked the prices to see if these are any better. Here is what was in the email:

30 GB iPod with video only $199!
60 GB iPod with video only $299!
1 GB iPod nano only $109!
2 GB iPod nano only $129!
4 GB iPod nano only $169!

These are certified refurbished from Apple.

Interesting. Usually when Apple drops prices on current product like that, it usually means that new hardware is coming out soon.

Be on the lookout for something new.

New hardware is coming out soon, it was in a Science Mag I have and they were covering new technology.

Okay on the buying of i-pods, be very very careful who and under what circumstances you buy one on. While pretty tough, i-pods can be damaged. If a deal seems too god to be true, then it probably is, things to consider, does the i-pod come with software, how about a charger. If not then you’re going to have to by those too. IMHO it’s better to buy one new then to take a chance. Refurbished ones, from Apple, are probably okay, but won’t have a good warrantee, if something goes wrong, you may end up footing the bill.

On the realm of Ebay, we got it all charger, case, original boxes, note of sale, earbuds, sealed earbud pads, etc.

No problems at all.
