Pkg w/DDP but no Park Tickets?

OK, feel like I should know this...

Can you book a pkg w/a resort reservation & DDP, but no park tickets? And if this is OK...if free DDP comes out for our dates, do they ever tack on ticket purch requirements to qualify for the free DDP? We got it for free once, but I don't remember the terms beyond having to be booked in a pkg. Thanks!

There are only a few situations where the dining plan can be purchased without tickets. Annual Pass holders and DVC members can, and I believe there's an exception for military members that purchase the special Armed Forces discounted tickets. But everyone else must book a package that includes tickets to get the DDP. If free dining becomes available for your dates, you must call and ask that your reservation be changed to include the free dining and book the required 2 day ticket minimum.
