There isn't any real difference between what I wear to sleep and what I wear to workout as far as style goes, so I guess that probably does look like pajamas to the casual observer. Yoga/lounge pants and tee shirts are my "uniform" for a lot of my errands because I do all my running at once, including a stop at the gym. And I have absolutely no qualms about letting my 2yo stay in her footie jammies if we're just running to the grocery store on a cold morning - regular pants tend to ride up in the carseat, so why not let her stay in the warmer option?
I do have a line, though - I would never go out in my slippers! The whole point of slippers to me is that we can leave our shoes at the door and have something to wear in the house that doesn't track the outdoors muck and snow all over the house. Wearing them outside and getting them just as icky as my shoes would defeat the whole purpose. (Oddly enough, I have no such qualms about being inside and outside barefoot all summer - slippers and the desire to keep the outdoor ick outdoors is strictly a winter weirdness for me).

!!! I had to force my kids to use real coats when it dropped below 30. They wanted to keep just wearing hoodies. Grrr!
this morning and I was nagging like I do every morning at DD to put her sweatshirt on, I'm not sure she ever actually wears her winter coat except to play in the snow.
you would think that was pretty well understood. go figure.
