PJ & TR: Claire & Mike - WP/KWR/SCP - 30 Dec 09 - **Inside Disney Weddings Podcast**

us too. we have been saving all year. all my OT checks have gone there. bonuses, any extra cash either of us get and money from our regular checks each month. it sucks not gettin help. i still am hoping my dad will maybe throw something our way, but i highly doubt it as he never has mentioned it to me or DF.

Sadly no OT in our jobs and this year no bonuses as the company needed to save money :sad2:

We have been lucky though and had some help from my parents but that has gone on extra things rather than saving us money.

Yay for paying off the honeymoon. That must be a huge relief!

Looking forward to having everything paid for so we know where we stand on a deposit for a new house.

just caught up, everything sounds wonderful, I hope you are lucky with your ADR's today

I'm really enjoying following your wedding plans. I'm just a lurker (married way too long ago), but have a daughter in college who loves the idea of a Disney wedding. She's been seriously involved with someone for 2 years now and they are talking about getting married when they graduate. Thanks for letting me follow along. Your ideas are fantastic! I just know that your wedding is going to be spectacular!!

One word - mmmmmmmmmmm!

(Although perhaps that's more of a nosie than a word, gone over my word limit now though haven't I darnit?!!)

I'm drooling at the thought of all that food and I'm really excited about taking our parents to all the restaurants.

Just booked a pedicure at the Grand Floridian, for my Mum and myself after my hair and make-up trial while the boys are playing golf.

I could not book the Grand 1 at the time I wanted :sad1:

Back to the planning board for my timeline then :sad2:

Nooooo ... really!!??

Is there any other boat you can get for your time!!???

Im so sorry..... do you have any other ideas?

It was available but I had to have it for 2 hours when I only wanted 1 hour. The Breathless only holds 7 people so too small and I don't want a pontoon boat.

In a way I think its a good thing as its saves us money, the day won't be as rushed and there'll be more time for photos.

Its such a shame as you wanted it.....

apart from more time for photos ... do you have any ideas now? Do something else? Or save the money?

Just spoken to lovely Kathleen, we are going to extend the cake/champagne reception that you get with an Escape package for an extra hour and maybe have a few nibbles to eat, she is sending me a menu now. If we want the violinist to stay its an extra $175 so not sure about that.

im sorry you couldn't do grand 1 :( but the extra hour sounds like it will be nice claire. At least your planner was able to help you out and give you a suggestion!

I'm sorry about not getting the grand 1. I read your title and was worried something terrible happened (not that not getting what you wanted for your wedding isn't bad, but I thought something tragic) so I'm sorry about the ship but glad it's nothing worse. I'm sure the people at DFTW will help you do something else special!

Kathleen has been so great, I couldn't ask for a better planner.

I'll change the title so as not worry anyone else!

I forgot in my upset about the Grand1 that we've also decided to change out cake from the modern deco to the Mickey Delight. Although I think the modern deco would have looked fab in black n white I decided that didn't really fit with the rest of the wedding and because you have to have the pattern/design in a dark colour it didn't really work for us anymore so we switched.

We have added veg/fruit and dip to our cake/champagne celebration for $8.75 per person and we decided against extending the violinist. We have brought our reception forward and now have an hours gap between that and the DP. I am also going to contact Randy and Ana and ask them to come half an hour later so our new timeline (is this my 100th one?) looks like this:

10:30am>1:30pm Hair and Make Up
1:30pm Randy arrives (booked for 3 hours)
1:45pm Limo takes me to GF
2:30pm Ceremony
3:30pm>5pm Cake/champagne celebration at GF between 4pm & 4:30pm we'll sneek off to take further photos with Randy then rejoin our family
5pm>7pm Reception in Key West Room
7pm>8pm short break
8pm>9pm Sago Cay DP

Online ADRs did not work again, rang when I got home but had not problem getting what I wanted:

Jan 7th - Arrive back from cruise, check into AKL, no plans

Jan 8th - Universal/IOA, meal at CityWalk (this may be dropped if we need to save a bit of cash on the tickets)

Jan 9th - Epcot meal at Teppan Edo

Jan 10th - DHS (Fntasmic 6:30pm) Meal at Jiko

Jan 11th - MK, no meal booked

Jan 12th - Free day

Jan 13th - AK (extra magic evening) Meal at Yak & Yeti

Jan 14th - Free Day

Jan 15th - Chef Mickey's for Breakfast, Mike thinks the afternoon is free but he will actually be doing the Richard Petty Driving Experience which i'm booking for him as a wedding present, Meal at Cali Grill for our last night

Jan 16th - DTD check in then CRT for breakfast, a few rides at MK then fly home

I'm sorry to hear about the Grand 1 not working out. I didn't realize you had to book it for a minimum of 2 hours. Perhaps it's because it's the holidays?

The extended reception sounds nice though. It will give you time to relax and mingle with your guests more.
