We'll be staying tin the Lake Buena Vista area in June. Are there any pizza places that are good? We are from Chicago, so we are a tad discriminating (Pizza Hut is a bare minimum - Dominos is right out). We made the mistake of trying Pizzera Uno back in '96. The Chicago original is a landmark and excellent - this kept us up all night!

MrShiny, we are also from Chicago and have wondered about Uno's down there.. no good eh? We won't touch Domino's and have decided that Pizza Hut is only good for their breadsticks.. - does that make us 'Pizza Snobs'??

Anyone with some good pizza options?

thanks!

Yes, unless it's changed significantly from '96, stay away from the Uno's down there. Sigh, reminds me of the late DisneyQuest just a stone's throw from the REAL Uno's (and Due's for that matter).

Should have know what we were in for when they told us they had no Italian salad dressing. They offered the house dressing, which it turned out was Italian dressing!

We were at the old Residence Inn LBV back then (by the Marriott World Center). Those of us who ate the pizza passed each other walking around all night!

I have actually made special trips downtown (now live in the burbs) just for Due's - my all time favorite!!! - now that you have mentioned it, I shall begin 'the crave'.... summertime weather, Due's "Uno" Special pizza followed by a Cubs afternoon game ... ahhhhhhhhhh - oh yeah, in my dream the Cubs win... in case you were wondering..... beer on the patio behind Murphy's.. ahhh... this weather is getting the best of me!

Alright.. no chance of that down in Lake Buena Vista huh?

I guess we should stay clear of the Uno - especially if they don't think that their house dressing is Italian dressing LOL! and I don't think that I am up for 'walking the halls' of the hotel after dinner! LOL! how awful you must have felt!!

So.. Pizza hut out, Domino's out, Uno's out.... how about a non-chain pizza joint.. like 'Joe's Pizza' - any of those down there? Somewhere with crispy thin crust and thick spicey/garlicy sauce who believes in the healing powers of mozzerella? ( I am not even sure that I want to wonder about the italian sausage - we can stick with cheese!!)

thanks!

Ya know what.. I just remembered..Spoodles at the Boardwalk has a pizza window. It isn't great, but it isn't bad. If memory serves me right, it reminded me of 'mall pizza' - you know, Sbarro (or something like that).

It wasn't fantastic, but I think we decided it was OK (which is more than I would guess you would say about UNO.. tee hee hee)

I think they sell it by the slice or you can get a whole pizza there. The boardwalk itself is a nice atmosphere.. they have tables outside that you can sit at and 'people watch' while you eat. I remember a clown doing tricks for the kids while we were eating.... an option.

Hey Mr.Shiny

I have an idea.. stay in a condo with an oven and have a pizza shipped to you!! Doesn't Gino's or Giordano's do that? I wonder what the cost would be!(Although I really hate that big slap of sausage they put on the pizza)

You might be able to do that yourself with Due's 1/2 baked pizza's.... freeze, bubble wrap and ship via overnight.. OR wrap & pack in cooler with dry ice and ship 3 day UPS?

I wonder ....

We really liked the pizza at Pizzerai Uno last summer.

My teen dd is picky and she wolfed it down.!

This was at the locatin behind crossroads in LBV.

Herc.

I wasn't crazy about Pizzaria Uno either. I DID like the pizza from Spoodle's window though. A lot of folks have posted that they haven't liked it, but I must have caught them on a couple of good nights.
