The menu at Pizza Planet looks pretty weak. How's the food?

I am wondering the same thing. I've heard a few reviews, but they were very mixed. I know I will have to eat there at least once lol, my son has already demanded it!

Last time we were there was a few years ago, but it was decent. Nothing memorable, but it wasn't bad pizza.

The same.

We have a review in the May dining review linked in my signature.

It is WDW pizza. Nothing you would want at home, but you won't die from eating it while in WDW.

I'm leaning toward skipping it and just going to Downtown Disney earlier to get some dinner before shopping.

We had a decent cs lunch there. Pizza wasn't bad, and had some nice chef salad type meals as well. Kids menus at cs tend to be dreadfull at wdw, and this was better than many others I have seen.

I think overall it is underrated and worth visiting.

The food is pretty under-whelming. We got the combo meal with the side salad and the salad was super tiny and the pizza was just eh.

I prefer the Backlot Express.. they have a pretty good grilled turkey and cheese sandwich and a better menu.

It's the same mediocre (being nice here) pizza that is served all over WDW..I would stick with your idea of eating @ DTD :flower3:

It's certainly not the best pizza out there, nor is it the worst. You do get a decent amount of food for a CS credit. The atmosphere is fun - but also noisy and crowded. Took us a while to find a table. But if you love the little alien guys, you have to at least peek inside there. :)

We've done it a few times, and it's the one place my 8 yr old wants to go back to, but I just can't do it. The food is fine for CS a meal, but every time we've been there, the lines are horrible, it takes forever to get thru, and trying to weave a tray through all of those people-YIKES! And then walking said try upstairs trying not to spill 4 sodas...I don't think my nerves can handle another trip!:lmao: My son is going to be disappointed. :confused3

I've seen pics of the pizza and pics from the outside of the place. But what's it like inside? Did they try to replicate Pizza Planet from the movies or is it just some Toy Story themed things inside?

The only place we go for Counter Service at DHS! The food is not amazing but it is the only counter service that we eat there. It is so nice to get pizza for lunch instead of fried chicken/french fries for lunch. The pizza and salad is good and a nice change up. I get the mickey head rice krispie treat for my dessert. The good thing about this place is they have a lot of seating!

We thought it was pretty good that said DH and I ordered the veggie pizzas and they made them fresh DS ordered the pepperoni pizza and I thought it looked as if it had been sitting and waiting for a little while. I know it gets bashed all the time but found it comparable to other fast service pizza it was good. Again I would order the veggie because it seemed to be fresher :)

Maybe somewhere in the middle. They do have lots of arcade games, so you get that element. Then there are little aliens everywhere, which is more of just a decor thing.

I don't remember the pizza being bad at all. The kids loved the atmosphere.

that's our usual go to counter service resturant at DHS. You get a lot for your credit. the pizza is good, the salad is good, the desert (large cookie or mickey rice crsipy treat) are good. Also, usually plenty of seating outside.

They got rid of the caprese salad :headache:

There is now a salad with chicken.

Pizza is not bad..........not great. You get plenty of food, about a 6 inch pizza, small salad and dessert. My daughter in law has to have the mickey crispy treat. She can get them anywhere in Disney but she swears by the ones at PP. We go at off times for easier seating. It is a good CS on the DDP.

Chef-Boy-R-Dee on bread :)
. . . actually it is a "fair" pizza for an amusement park
. . . well under Domino's or Pizza Hut
. . . well above a school cafeteria

Given the lack of edible counter service at DHS, we find Pizza Planet pretty much the best bet. I rank the pizza around the same as chuck e cheese.
