anyone able to tell me who deliveres pizza or any food to port orleans riverside. I stayed at buena vista palace last year and used flippers, they delivered there but wasnt sure if they delivered to POR.

Also, anyone know how much a taxi would be to the nearest offsite restaurants that are half decent.

thanks guys! (and gals)!

POR has their own in room delivery- not great but ok in a pinch for convenience. We once had Domino deliver but I don't know where they were located.

There are a couple of Flippers locations and they do deliver to POR. We had it there last summer. When I called in June, while staying at AKL, they gave me the phone number to a closer location that delivered to that resort. So give them a call and they will let you know which one does your resort. I think the DTD one did POR.

Giordano's will deliver to WDW resorts. There are two Giordano's in the area; one will deliver to one portion of WDW and the other will deliver to the other side.

Back in September 2010 I ended up calling both inquiring as to which location would deliver to AKL Kidani. Both locations had very nice staff answering the phone. :thumbsup2

I was just at Boardwalk and there were several guests that had pizza boxes left outside the room from some of the local pizza places. It was odd to me that the boxes were left outside the room vs put in the trash, but only one was from the resort.

So, there are certain to be several who will deliver. On a side note, in the room was a notice next to the phone to alert guest to use only well known restaurants for the well being of guests. I don't know if there has been an issue before or if this was used to drive business in house, but thought I'd post it anyway.

hey. thanks for the replies guys

I stayed at buena vista palace last year and they had the notice next to the phone about not trusting fliers under the door. i think its because scammers were taking card numbers over the phone then emptying the account

another vote for Giordano's!!! esp if you love Chicago style deep dish pizza

I had them deliver to me when I stayed at POR and I just met the girl in the lobby

I am not a fan of deep dish pizza, so after going to the Giordano's website, I decided that was not on my list of places to go in Orlando.

Flippers has a pretty good pizza, IMHO. If they do delivery, I'd get them over any of the other places in town.

about how much was delievery charge if any? I'm really thinking of doing this

I don't remember a delivery charge, however it has been awhile. Perhaps another trip to WDW to remind myself is in order....:rotfl2:

Is it any cheaper than getting a large pizza at the food court?

.

There was a scan a while ago where someone was handing out flyers for super cheap pizza and they would only take your credit card for payment over the phone and then lo and behold no pizza shows and your cc info was stolen.

The pizza at the food court is edible but not the best. I'd rather pay a little more and have a good pizza. JMHO

We ordered Flippers on our last trip. They delivered to the lobby at POR but wouldn't deliver to the room.

It was excellent!

Maybe not cheaper, but it has got to be better. Disney's pizza isn't even as good as a $5 hot-n-ready from Little Ceasars and most resorts don't even offer standard pizza sides like hot wings at any price.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think WDW pizza is good. To me it's way better than Little Ceasar's.

When at the values we had Poppa Johns delivery, they have several so when you call ask to make sure which resort which store delivers to. On the internet is a $2 or 3 dollar coupon too, let them know when you order.

I usually got a pie, tenders, soda, plates and napkins, had them ring the charge up, with the coupon. then give delivery person the coupon and tip.

DTD has the Earl of Sandwhich not pricey for a sandwhich and soup dinner, off site we went to dinner shows. Prepurchased coupons at Bigdaddy or momma something or other for cut rate price. They are located right across from The Midievil Knights and I think Old Town. The food was not bad, chicken roasted, baked potato, soup to drink, rolls, deseart veggi etc, the experiance GREAT. THe handsome knights, graceful horses. You eat dinner without silverware, and the wenches serve you food and spirits. THATS a great evening with the family. You sit around the area and root for your Knight by section.
Use to be all the beer included or soda, now I think the first one only.

there are other shows like that too, my gang just loved that one.

Anyone with a car, the son turned us onto Whattaburgers. They had other food there too, friendly workers, tons of food, great burger. We do not have them up north, and the chain in VA is different too. I had a lot of great family fun there and hitting shops on the way.

Flippers is really good. My DH is a pizza snob and he loved it. I don't think you will be disappointed with them.
