Has anyone else heard news about Pixie Hollow being added to Magic Kingdom and has there been any word on The Princess and the Frog? I'm so excited that Disney will finally have an African American Princess as well as a Fairy!!!

Pixy Hollow was mentioned in the Moniter as a place you stet into the fairy's land and is said to be very reminiscent of Neverland. It would be the first part of the Fantasyland make over and the entire makeover would be finished in 2012 if everything goes through.

Tiana was confirmed that she would be added to the official Princess roster. I would assume she would be in the top tire with Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine. The 2nd tire is Pochahantas and Mulan, who are used in the movies, parks and pretty much everywhere the other 6 are used in but just not as much.

There is actually a third tire, though none are true princesses, Alice, Maid Marian, Nala, Princess Melody, Megara and Minnie Mouse. Out of all those Alice stands out the most since she was the only nonprincess in Kingdom Hearts, but was a "Princess of Heart" and she also the only nonprincess in Disney Princess artwork.

There will be 2 new princesses added, Rapunzel and Tiana. They will make appearances in the park aswell is in the movies. If you noticed that I didnt say Giselle is/will become a princess. Originally she was going to be added to the official roster, but Disney soon found out that they would need to pay Amy Adams royalties. So she was dropped.

Within the next 5 years (very possibly next year for the new princess) an all new princess meet and greet area will be made like Pixy Hollows.

I think I'm more excited about there being an AA princess. Now when I have a daughter she she will see a princess representation of herself!!!

Actually...looking at the list now there is 1 race not touched yet. The races of South America! I dont quite care which race they use. Whether it's Mexico, Brazil, Chili, Peru or any other South American Country. I would hope they would have a South American princess in the future. Imagine, a movie about the ancient Aztec or Inca race. If done correctly in could be amazing, but it easily could turn into Atlantis all over again.

I would like to see a Russian princess before the South American princess though. Too bad Disney cant make Anastasia, but I'm sure there's another Russian farytale/event that Disney could mold into a story like what they did with Pocahontas.

Just an observation. I often see little girls emulating the different princesses at the parks, and to the young ones, they never seem to care too much about what race the princess is, they just have their preferences based on the princess themselves.

Sounds interesting, but the children seem to judge not by the color of the princesses skin, but by the content of their character.

A very great man once had that same dream.

And the little child shall lead them. . .

Didn't know if you knew but there is now an official trailer for Princess and the Frog... it's just a bit of a teaser really though...

And about Giselle... I think that was rumour about Amy Adams and the royalties because there are ways around it... if they made merchandise based on the animated version of Giselle they don't need to pay her a cent. Giselle was never added to the Princess line because she actually isn't a Princess. She didn't marry Prince Edward remember... she chose a life with Robert in New York.

They already started remaking the Little Mermaid meet-n-greet at Disneyland into the Pixie meet 'n greet area.

I would assume she would be in the top tire with Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine.

I'm curious why you might assume this? Doesn't the popularity of the character and the reception that a film receives typically determine such matters? :confused3

Hype. Everyone is excited that Disney is going back to traditional movies. And the REAL traditional movies that are based on a fairytale and then Disneyfied. Think of this movie like The Little Mermaid of the 00'. It is the return of what was lost.

The very worst this film could do is Mulan status. I doubt it will ever be as big as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin or The Little Mermaid. It could however be better than Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas and Mulan. Snow White and Cinderella is not the best Disney movies, but they are in a class all their own.

This is where I think she will fit in at the parks due to pictures I see(on the boards), advertisements from disney, personal opinion, hype and character design (the last being the reason behind some characters being removed ie, Tarzan and Esmeralda. Though Tarzan will sometime be at special events, he was taken out of the line up in normal park hours).

Cinderella
Ariel
Belle/Snow White
Tiana
Jasmine
Mulan
Aurora
Pocahontas

I seem to recall a Scottish princess being planned by Pixar for about two years from now. With that character being non-traditional (CGI) I'm wondering where she might fit in...?

Did you forget "The Emperor's New Groove"? That was in South America.

No princesses though. Yzma could be a villain character though. Or Pacha's wife. She may be the first pregnant Disney animated character shown on screen.

I did forgot about that, and that movie was a mess. It was funny, but a mess.

I think the original plot would have been a better movie over all.
