Pixie Dust????

I've read a few posts where people refer to "pixie dust." What exactly is it ? Thanks.

It is usually something either given or received that is unexpected.

An example: I am part of a FE group and have extras left over. I give some of the gifts away randomly and this is considered "Pixie Dusting"

An example: I have a reservation at AKL or standard view. Upon check-in I am upgraded to Pool View. This is Pixie Dust.

Pixie dust is like the Disney version of receiving good luck.

We cruised with our daughter's family. The first night at Animator's Palette a woman and young girl came by our table and gave our grand-daughters (5 and 18 months) each a princess purse. On another day, my daughter came back from an excursion and found a present attached to the door from an unknown person. These examples of "pixie dust" are one of the reasons that we will only cruise on Disney.

Pixie Dust I have received:
For our 25th anniversary someone put up decorations on our door announcing our celebration to everyone else onboard. We do not have any idea who did this. We came back from breakfast the second day of a seven day cruise and there they were. What a surprise and a welcome

On one cruise we were upgraded from an inside to OV room, no charge. This cruise was booked on DVC points. We did not find out about the upgrade until we got in the room. When our luggage arrived they still had the tags from our previous inside room on them.
