Anybody here ever have any pixie dust sprinkled on them with a room or resort upgrade?

Had multiple problems with multiple rooms at SSR last year. Asked if there was any opening anywhere on property while hoping for POFQ. Disney sent a CM to drive us over in a van with or luggage. The new resort was GF.

Wow... I'm staying at POR in August.. I'd kill for an upgrade like that.

All of our trips prior to the past April were without any upgrades....that's okay, we weren't expecting any....but we were really surprised when we checked into YC in April. We had booked a YC CL standard view room and upon checking in, found out that they had chosen us as Family of the Day and upgraded us to a CL Lagoon view room with a bunch of treats waiting for us. :dance3:

That was beyond expectations and very appreciated. :goodvibes

We've been upgraded from standard to savanna view at AKL; from standard to water view at the BC; and from SL to RPC at the GF.

I was upgraded from ASMo to a 1 bedroom at Old Key West in August 2007. OKW was my "pipedream" resort and I was still a relative newbie (still hadn't even found the DIS yet) to the Disney Addicts Club so I was quite cynical when I got an email in early June. I could pick either OKW or SSR but the availability was "limited". I so figured I'd have to sit through a 2 hour DVC presentation or some such nonsense. Nope. Just some MAJOR pixie dust! :cheer2: This was during FD and, of course, the values were overbooked so I was one of the lucky ones picked for an upgrade.

OKW was as amazing as I had dreamed it would be. :cloud9:

We were just at Disney June 5th through the 11th. We stayed our first 2 nights at the Caribbean Beach and then finished at the Yacht Club.

I paid for a standard room at the Caribbean Beach, but at the desk she upgraded me to a preferred room.

At the Yacht Club, I paid for a water view room. I was not "upgraded," but they originally had us in a room with 1 queen and a day bed (just my DS13 and I). She asked how old my son was and I told her. She told me that there is no way that room would work for us so she was going to look for another room. She found a corner room facing the lake on the 2 floor close to the center of the resort. It had a fantastic view and a little extra room because it was a corner room. It was also nice to have a short walk to the lobby with the buses and the boats. Although it was not an upgrade, I definitely felt like we had some pixie dust!!! :cool1:

There from May 29 to June 5 stayed at Pop. DW and I was moved from standard double bed to 4th floor pool view King in the 60's. Might not be much but the extra room in the bed and in the room was much appreciated.

Never. But I've never been a lucky person in general :sad1: I book the room I want so I won't be disappointed :thumbsup2

Small upgrade in February- we were at All Star Sports and were given a preferred room in surfs up section. Small - but we totally loved being so close to food court and pool .

We got mire upgrades a few years ago when resort capacity was low. The past year occupancy has been high so last time we got an upgrade was at WL jan 2012. It also depends how long your stay is. You have a better chance of an upgrade on a short stay.

We got an upgraded about 3 weeks ago at the GCH at DLR. Booked a standard view room, and was upgraded to a premium pool view room :thumbsup2

I'm not sure--we booked a King room at POFQ, and when we got there it was a gorgeous Riverfront room. The view was beautiful! The "I'm not sure" is because, well, I'm not sure if all King rooms have River views, and the website isn't too clear on it.

In any event it was a surprise to us, and very very nice :woohoo:

We were shocked last year when we checked into WL and were upgraded from our woods view room to the CL! It was our DD's first trip, so having access to the CL for milk, breakfast was such a treat (although I wouldn't pay for it out of pocket personally).

Love hearing these!! I hope some of y'all's pixie dust rubs off in over 20 trips not one upgrade but I try to book what I want as well or pay for the upgrade before the 45 days if I end up with the "extra" money.. This time I was able to book the resort I wanted but with my job loss not CL like we normally pay for..

I booked a Garden View room @ POR for 8 days over Memorial Day Week, for myself and 3 boys. We were upgraded to a Royal Room by the pool :)

Dec. 2012 I had booked a standard room at POR, no requests. It was my first solo trip and first time at POR. Upon check-in I was upgraded to a preferred room. I loved being close to the food court without having to pay extra.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Last year we paid for a standard room at ASMo and were upgraded to a preferred when we checked in. Our building was right next to the food court and bus stops, and we didn't have to pay extra for it. :cool1:
