So here's our pixie dust story!
Every Other trip we have been on, to Disney we have always gotten park hopper tickets. We usually use them on Animal kingdom day, and then again on our last day, to hop and just ride our faves, on the last day. Works well.

WHY i chose to chage the plans this time... no idea. So we arrive Friday at lunchtime, and leave today at breakfast. I price out the differance between a 5 day ticket and a 4 day hopper... I can't remember the difference, but went with a five day, non hopper, thinking I could just use my 5th day, after we went to Animal Kingdom, and head back to Magic Kingdom. We get to Magic kingdom, and aghast... our tixs don't work. Nothing new, Our tickets had issues ALL week, so we head to ticket counter to sort it all out. We get there, and bad news delivery... can't use 2 park tickets in one day. S*&T okay.... so I will just make em park hoppers.. it's only one day... how much can that cost...DON"T ASK! So okay thats not an option... So I will but a one day ticket for each of us... (me and my two kids) AGAIN DON'T ASK THE COST!!! So crap again. Now I am near tears... Kids are so disappointed... and my last night at disney is ruined. Ticket girl seems upset for us. I am very nice, and start to gather my bags, and start to tearfully explain that I can't pay so much for 4 hours in the park! She calls me over, slides 3 tickets my way and says "Have a magical day!" I then start to cry.

What a great way to end our trip!!!

Wow. Makes me smile! :)

Great cm to do that, but A hopper is a hopper and you knew you paid for non hoppers. I'm confused as to why you thought you could do both parks on the last day of your tickets? Not being mean just curious.

I think she thought, as many people would, that a ticket is an "occurrence" rather than a "day". Therefore thinking that one could stay 1,2,3,4 days but have a 5 day ticket, using tickets 4 and 5 on the same day.

It seems like it would be ok and I remember thinking it should work until you realize that no one would buy hoppers on longer trips as the tix get cheaper. (At least I guess that's the reasoning.)

Same thoughts here.
So glad the CM was able to pull that off for y'all! :thumbsup2

Awesome answer and that makes sense to think that.

Awesome story and perfect example of what separates WDW from everybody else!:)

PLEASE write or email Disney with your story-that Cast Member deserves some recognition for what they did for you!:)

Yes, you are all correct, I assumed it was occurance, not actual day. I will def. be contacting Disney! I know that they do these things for others sometimes. (atleast read it on here) But I concider myself so fortunate to even be able to GO to disney, that I never even thought it would happen to me!
Sidenote, why on earth don't they prorate unused days for hoppers or never expires?

Money. They know that after only a few days it is only about $10 to add another day but it is $57 to add the park hopper. When you buy a multi-day, non-hopping ticket, it is one park per day, not one park admission. I thought they said "not valid for park hopping" or something similar on the ticket, but I can't remember now.

I'm glad things worked out for you!

well, the "non expires" are going away soon. we still have 6 water park tickets each that never expire! we bought 10 day, water park and more tcikets and added the no expiration. we used the park tickets over 2 shorter trips (one trip included a visit to vero beach, so we didn't need as many park days) and got 10 water park andmore visits!

this is probably why they are doing away with that:lmao:

OP, the reason they don't allow you to use 2 park tickets on the same day is because of the way they prorate the tickets. since, after day 4, the tickets are only $10, no one would purchase the hoppers.

Wow! That certainly is some pixie dust for you!! I'm so glad the CM was able to make the end of your trip magical rather than not so much!!

You got very, very lucky. I'm happy for you. :)

I do hope, though, that other people don't go and insist that they get free tickets or squeeze out a few crocodile tears hoping they'll get lucky, too.

Does anyone else think the cm could get in trouble for this? OP, I'm glad she did this for you, I've overheard similar situations at Disney and felt sorry for those that didn't fully understand the admission options, but management MAY not look at this as a positive.
