Pixie Dust please :-)

Alison - you all deserve to have the most magical, wonderful Disney trip that anyone has ever had.
Best wishes to you all. Go, enjoy and savor ever minute.

Kev

Thanks Alison,
You enjoy planning too, and doing the thing that is right for you all. It is important to secure memories today, and let the future take care of itself. I am a firm believer in crossing bridges as I come to them.

:goodvibes I haven't been courageous enough to tell my mum the outcome of the outpatient appt, or that we're still going yet :goodvibes

She'll be the 'sensible' one who thinks we should save the money to pay the bills............... and that we should go when DH is 'better' :confused3

Thanks to everyone for encouraging me to go with what I know is the right decision :grouphug:

Alison we send our love .

I think you should go . I think you would regret it if you didn't. Our son broke his neck a couple of years ago and we just live for today and try and not to look to far into the future. Think we would all go loopy :) if we did that. Yeh you would save money but hey whats money, hubbie, family, loads of pics and memories are far more important.

lots of love to your family and please keep us updated with how he is doing

I haven't replied before now as I just couldn't think of the 'right' thing to say. Everything that I thought of just sounded so lame and couldn't even begin to say how brave you, your DH and DD are for being able to smile in the face of adversity. You truly deserve a wonderful and magical trip to WDW and I hope that it is everything you dreamed of and more. Renewing your wedding vows is such a lovely thing to do there as well. I hope and pray that your trip takes place as planned and your DH's condition does not deteriorate.

Sneding you tonnes and tonnes of pixie dust and a great big group hug from another 'Disco' friend :grouphug:

Sorry to hear about the awful decisions you have to make. But I agree live life to the full whilst you can all enjoy it, memories are there forever :)

Claire ;)

I'm so glad you are going on your trip.
I agree it's more important to make memories than be sensible.
I'm sending you all a :grouphug: as I think you are all amazing and deserve the best Holiday ever. :goodvibes

Thank you all

There are no right, or wrong things to say - except that maybe we should stay at home and pay the bills......... :rotfl:

I've fluctuated today, between feeling so happy that we can take our trip, and despair at how we'll all get through more major surgery :confused3

The possible saviour may well be one of our wonderful MacMillan nurses, who is due to visit in the morning :grouphug:
She will, no doubt, be blessed with my moanings, and DH's positive thoughts - such as, ''well, we've got through stuff before, haven't we....?''

Whatever happens we WILL have have a magical holiday :sunny:
We get help, from ''Artists General Benevolent Institution'' when we're in 'diar straights'
They have,so kindly, today, offered to pay for a rental car for our trip and a limo to get us to and from the vow renewal-we'd originally promised DD that we would have one but had dismissed the idea in favour of 'sensiblity' ;) .
DH is an artist (Google him with 'Phil Bestford') and, as a result of much nagging before surgery 4 years ago, DH allowed me to contact them for help.

They have made SUCH A DIFFERENCE to our life :sunny: :sunny:

To anyone who is in a similar position to us please visit your local CAB and ask them to see whether there is any funding you might be entitled to.
I was, fortunately, a volunteer at our local CAB when DH was told he needed his first major surgery, 4 years ago.

Thank you all again xx

Alison in your profile is a link to your DH's website, I had a look yesterday and there are some truely great pictures in there, he is a very gifted artist :)

Thankyou - on his behalf

According to his neurology consultant some of his artistic talent is likely to be a result of his tumour - not sure whether anyone read the article in 'The Times' on ''Illness: The pathway to creative genius?'' on New Years Eve?

I can only repeat what others have said.....Go and have a fantastic holiday and make some wonderful memories for yourselves. You ALL deserve it.
My father-in-law has recently been diagnosed with motor neurone disease and his biggest regret is that he never travelled abroad.

Life is too short
delighted that you can all go on holidays
and will be thinking of you all

Alison - I wish you the most wonderful, magical holiday ever.

If anyone deserves it, you guys do.

All the best for you all,

Karen
