Well, we're back and, although the news wasn't too good on the tumour front, we get to go on our holiday
Joking aside, basically the consultant said that there were two possible options - one was to wait until DH gets problems with hydrocephalis and then they would insert a shunt.
The second was to do a mega, major op which would involve, literally, removing most of the left hand side of DH's skull and carotid artery! Hmmm!
As he explained, the second option, at this stage of play would be like playing Russian Roulette as there would be a good chance that DH wouldn't even survive the surgery
So, we're going with the 'closely monitoring, and reporting any problems' option for now (another out patient appt in 3 mths time, when we get home) and I'm going to get planning 'that there' trip
I guess there will be 'sensible' people who will think that we shouldn't go and should save any savings for when DH can't work but, seeing as everything, bar the car hire, chapel to re-new our wedding vows and limo are paid for, we're going to build some more memories for the months and years ahead when things, unfortunately, can only really get worse
If anyone has any ideas of things we can do to make the trip more memorable.....?
Hope I haven't left it too late to book the chapel or get a ressie for Chef Mickeys'
Thank you all so much for your kind wishes and prayers.
DH hasn't had chance to read them all yet so I'll be passing over to him once I've sent this
