I have gone to FtW as a child and now with my kids for over 3 decades. We were staying at another WDW resort and had invited friends to come over to roast hotdogs and Mmellows at the chip and dale campfire to celebrate my kids' Bdays. When were got there, the firepit was closed due to Fla fire warning. We were hot and tired from the parks and had 10 hungry people with cold hot dogs, smores stuff and no way to cook it. I went into the store to ask if we were allowed to use the grills back at our resort before I bought charcoal. I was directed to the store manager, who then said wait a minute, came back and said they had authorization for us to use the grill by the pool and handed me pre-lit charcoal compliment of Mickey. Our kids and friends enjoyed a great time. Fire crew came by to say that was the last fire allowed. thanks, Mickey!

Yep, absolutely 'no' fires here and the winds here are very strong at times. Great for touring the parks 'weather' (for us anyway) but I know they would love some rain. It's like summertime here (94* yest) but the humidity is 50-60% during the day and the wind helps to make it 'better' than summer - still plenty warm though!!

Having to do 'lots' of watering - trees, shrubs, and especially the plantings for the F&G Festival - 'no' help from mother nature!!

When we were down there last week, my DW was watching them dead head the flowers around the ponds. She said it looked like a bunch but there was little noticeable affect. I did notice the lack of wet weather. Not that I would complain as it was nice to come back to my residence with green grass and tall. I finally got around to mowing this weekend. It was just as hot as it was at WDW.

What is pre-lit charcoal?

I am guessing it was probably something like "Match Light" that was not "Pre-Lit" rather "Pre-Soaked" (with charcoal lighter).

I know, I thought the same thing when I read "Pre-Lit". Thinking that could be quite hot to be "Handed"
