Pixie dust and reservations for June

My mom was just diagnosed with cancer and will need surgery and chemo. We have a family trip planned for June '04 with my parents, our family and my brother's family at BWV.

We've reserved a 2 bdrm and a studio. Some of the pts used were from 2003 and some were borrowed from 2004.

My mom wants me to keep the reserv for now - she's hoping she'll feel well enough to go. We'll only go if she's able to go. If I need to cancel, what happens to my points?

As for your points, it depends on your use year and how far in advance that you cancel. If it is less than 30 days, the points go into a holding account (you will be limited as to how far in advance you can make a reservation with those points). Points that are borrowed cannot be returned to that use year. So you will need to use the borrowed points before your 2004 use year.

I'm sorry for the news about your mom, and she's right--keep the ressie. I have to tell you my experience: Dad was told he had inoperable cancer in the summer of 2002, and given 3 months. We cancelled Christmas, and rented out the points, even though Dad said to go. Well, at Christmas he was as healthy as could be, so we ended up going and paying cash--ouch!! We made ressies for this Christmas--Dad suddenly became ill on July 29, and died on the 31st, so we again cancelled, and rented out the points. Settling someone's estate is a horrendous job, even though Dad and I had worked together to settle almost everything. We are still trying to settle his medical bills, and it's awful. My life is suddenly coming apart, and I HAVE TO GET AWAY, so we got last-minute ressies, again on cash. I just need to get away from his death for awhile. So DO NOT let the ressies go until 31 days before, when you will know for sure if you can do without the trip. I feeling like it's my lifeline, and I go on Sunday. Okay my use year is October. If I cancel 31 days prior to the trip, what happens to the pts that I used from '03. I understand that'd I have to use the borrowed pts from '04 before Oct 1 - I think that's right anyway.
