I just found out I will probably have to cancel my planned trip for May due to a medical problem. Now, to keep my spirits up I want to start planning a new trip. I am considering Mid September (lighter crowds, still nice and warm, but hurricane season), Mid October (still light crowds, MNSSHP, but still hurricane season and a bit cooler) Beginning of December (CHRISTMAS, but even cooler) I haven't been to WDW in the fall, but I am not a hot weather person, so the summer is definately out. I have been there in the first part of the holiday season and I loved it and I was even thinking about doing my next trip after my (now probably cancelled) May trip right after Thanksgiving 2007. Also, there is a strong chance my trip would be solo, also a first for me.

Thanks for the advice.

Kim

I'm sorry to hear about your dilemma... Here's my bit of pixie dust pixiedust: , along with prayers for good news (so you won't have to change your plans!)

My vote if you want a good chance of cooler weather would be for the Dec. trip! It's right between my two favorite months to go to the Mouse House! (See my signature...) Our Nov. trip was extremely comfortable balmy weather - though never unbearably hot. Our Jan. trip was the other extreme, freezing cold. It actually snowed in Orlando on our last day and they didn't think our flight would be able to take off. (This was a bit of deja vu for a family from Upstate NY...) Plus in Dec. you'd be able to enjoy the holiday decorations!

We always go during the food and wine festival at Epcot but DH and I went alone in Dec. for the first time this year, I loved it. We were there the 14-19. There were no lines, we walked on most everything. The holiday storytelling in the countries in Epcot was wonderful. The decorations were wonderful. We were able to wear shorts two of the days, the other days jeans and t-shirts. It is our new favorite time of the year to go.

My vote would be October first, then December, and September last.

October is at the end of the hurricane season and last year wasn't the most typical of times. Also, the Food and Wine Festival is a favorite. The weather is a bit more predictable. December is nice with the decorations but the temps could plunge or could be warmer. Just a weird month for weather. September is definitely hurricane season and those pesky but harmless love bugs come into play.

Solo trips are lots of fun. Did a few myself and you'll never feel out of place at all.

Here's hoping everything works out. There's nothing like a Disney World trip in the future to keep all your worries at bay!

Hi. We love September, but it is really hot compared to what I remember my few early May trips being like. So it might not be for you.

Sorry you had to cancel your trip sending pixie dust pixiedust: and hoping you soon have another trip planned :sunny:

My thoughts are you can never have enough pixie dust. Sooo, I'm sending you a little more. pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust:

I would also recommend an October trip. There is the Food and Wine festival and MNSSHP.

December is also fun with all of the holiday decorations and celebrations in the parks.

I have been in September and the weather is still very hot.
