Pixar Parade to Cafe Orleans

I made our dining reservations yesterday to make sure we got the WCT WOC package, but now that they've finally published the schedule for the days we'll be there (July 7-9) I may have to change them.

One thing I really want to see is the Pixar Play Parade. It's at 5:15 and our reservations are for Cafe Orleans at 6:00. I'm assuming that won't work. How much time would we need to allow to get from wherever we see the parade (no idea where that would be) to Cafe Orleans? Obviously that requires switching parks, which isn't ideal, but the parade isn't shown on our second day and DH is convinced the third day we'll be tired of DLR and will go somewhere else (he's WRONG but still). What's the earliest you would recommend we plan to eat at CO, knowing we'd have two kids who'd need to walk from the parade to the restaurant?

If you watch the parade from the walkway right by where they're building the Little Mermaid, near Grizzly Run, you may just make it in time for a 6pm reservation - if you leave immediately. But I'd push it back to maybe 6:30-6:45? That'll give you a nice big window to move parks.

I would push your reservation back. The parade starts at 5:15 from it's origin point, so if you are over by Little Mermaid ride it might take 5 min or more to even get to you then sit through the parade. It is very cute, but I have no idea how long it is. 15 min? I think that would really be pushing it and you want to enjoy the parade not just be checking your watch the whole time.

I would think 6:30 would give you a nice window to get over there and still be eating early for the kids.

I think it can be done. But I wouldn't try if you are pushing a stroller or have difficulty walking.

Tink 929 mentioned where to watch from. I think if you have your back to that area so the trail around the front of GRR that does to Soarin is on your left. You might be able to beat all the guests watching the parade to the exit.

Getting around that crowd is the key to timely travel to Cafe Orleans.

I second pushing your ressie back to 6:30-6:45pm. Don't forget that the Celebrate Parade at DLR starts at 6:30pm so Main Street is going to be pretty crowded, which makes it hard to maneuver to NOS.

Oh gracious. The Celebrate parade really sticks things up terribly, if it's starting at the front of the park (or if you get caught at the end of it). One day I got caught THREE times by it and it was rotten (made worse b/c I really don't like that "parade").

Thanks so much everyone! I think I'll change the reservation to 6:30 and we should be okay. I appreciate your help!
