Woo Hoo! :thumbsup2

It was a great night in Pittsburgh. We again are the City of Champions!

Too bad the Red Wing fans turned into the boo birds last night. It was pretty crappy watching our guys hoisting the cup and hearing the fans boo loudly in the background. Not too classy guys! :sad2: Our fans didn't do that to your team last year.

But I'm sure it didn't bother the players one bit. Everyone counted us out, but we prevailed and Lord Stanley is back in Pittsburgh. :yay:

The game almost gave DH a heart attack.

He said he didnt mind the boos, but he did the cheers when Crosby got hurt.

Yep, It's too bad they were sore losers. :sad2:

Congrats Penguins!!! :cool1:

I'm so happy the Penguins won!! I initially wanted the Panthers to make the playoffs (knew that was ever going to happen but I have to hope since I am from Florida ) but the Penguins are secretly my favorite team! YAY!

DH went to bed a happy, happy guy.

Yesterday, he undertook a quest for the Qdoba burrito. He found a new place near us and went there. It opens on Monday and they were doing training....d'oh! So he had to drive to another part of the metro area and he finally got the Pens Coach's burrito. It took him a while, but after last night, he said it was all worth it and was just trying to pull all the good hockey karma he could. If there is such a thing as hockey karma, cheering over a player's game-ending injury probably doesn't help.

Now DH halfway hopes the Pirates can pull a miracle. I told him to keep dreaming and don't be greedy...:)

But the pirates pulling a miracle would be finishing close to .500:rotfl:

As a Blues fan, I couldn't possibly be happier that the Pens won last night. :goodvibes

To be fair, it could have been the Kazakh national team that won the Cup last night and I would have been equally thrilled; the best part was simply that the Wings LOST.

Seriously, congrats to the Pens! It's an amazing accomplishment, being only the 3rd team in NHL history to win Game 7 of the Cup Finals on the road. That's so awesome!

I am a fan of neither team(as is obvious by my signature) but let's call it both ways...where was Crosby to shake hands at the end? THAT bothers me. And that is classless.

Actually, Sidney Crosby IS one of the classiest guys in the NHL. Anyone who has followed his career knows this. AND they showed pictures of him shaking hands with the Red Wings that were still on the ice. After their pathetic loss, many of the Red Wings bolted for the locker room. They showed him shaking hands with the ones still out there. There always has to be some sort of drama, doesn't there?

Still proud of our Penguins!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
Lord Stanley, WELCOME HOME!

:confused3

The TV news stations aired footage of Crosby shaking hands with Red Wings players and the Red Wings coach.

Penguins deny accusations of snub by Crosby
The Detroit News
Detroit -- Pittsburgh Penguins officials on Saturday defended team captain Sidney Crosby against an accusation he snubbed Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom in the handshake line after the Penguins won the Stanley Cup at Joe Louis Arena on Friday night.

The Red Wings' Kris Draper was quoted in an Associated Press story saying Crosby did, indeed, snub Lidstrom.

"Nick was waiting and waiting, and Crosby didn't come over to shake his hand," Draper said. "That's ridiculous, especially as their captain, and make sure you write that I said that." Crosby could not be reached for comment Saturday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, but there was a response to Draper's accusation from Tom McMillan, the Penguins' vice president of communications.

"There's nobody who respects the traditions of hockey more than Sidney Crosby," McMillan told the Post-Gazette. "It was a young team celebrating its first Cup and some of the guys might have been a little late getting into the handshake line."

There are photographs showing Crosby in the post-game handshake line.

Sorry, even DETROIT reports that he shook hands.
