Real classy guy that Crosby...Pittsburgh should be proud of him

Sidney Crosby is from my province, Nova Scotia! So definitely the PENS!!!! Super happy!!!

I'm a Sabres fan who really, really, really wanted the Penguins to lose. Didn't care if the Wings won... just wanted the Pens to lose.

In the poll I voted for the Wings.

I'm married to a Pens fan, but hockey has no attraction for me personally. I don't hate it....just not into it.

But I do hear all about the sport though....especially the Hossa thing. Irony! Crosby seems like a sensible guy and I hope he keeps his head on straight while his stock is rising.

Not a Sabres fan - I'm a Canes fan! And since Pens took us out of the playoffs, I was pulling for Detroit too. ONLY because I didn't want the Pens to win!

But congrats Pens fans anyway....

Yeah, it is really classy to shove your stick in the other team's line when they are lining up to congratulate their goalie. And really classy to not want to shake the other team's hands.

I wanted the Red Wings to win, but I could have handled them loosing to a team that acted like grown men and not spoiled brats. The Penguins have a lot of growing up to do! Not to mention learing what sportsmenship is all about.:sad2:

The Penguins are not a team to be proud of.

Here. I guess you did not read the other thread.

Penguins deny accusations of snub by Crosby
The Detroit News
Detroit -- Pittsburgh Penguins officials on Saturday defended team captain Sidney Crosby against an accusation he snubbed Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom in the handshake line after the Penguins won the Stanley Cup at Joe Louis Arena on Friday night.

The Red Wings' Kris Draper was quoted in an Associated Press story saying Crosby did, indeed, snub Lidstrom.

"Nick was waiting and waiting, and Crosby didn't come over to shake his hand," Draper said. "That's ridiculous, especially as their captain, and make sure you write that I said that." Crosby could not be reached for comment Saturday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, but there was a response to Draper's accusation from Tom McMillan, the Penguins' vice president of communications.

"There's nobody who respects the traditions of hockey more than Sidney Crosby," McMillan told the Post-Gazette. "It was a young team celebrating its first Cup and some of the guys might have been a little late getting into the handshake line."

There are photographs showing Crosby in the post-game handshake line.

Sorry , yes they are young but I do not think they were out of line. The Red Wing Fans seemed like the rude ones (Cheering when Crosby got hurt).

What about Crosby shoving his stick into the Red Wings line after game 1? What about all of the Penguins obvious attempts to re-injure a Red Wings play during his first game back? Chopping at his ankle, when the puck was no where near them? Those are not the actions of a classy team.:sad2:Those are the actions of frustrated, impatient brats.

It is too bad, because before all of this nonsense I would have actually been happy for Crosby to win. He is a very talented young player. But he has a lot to learn about sportsmanship, and apparently his whole team does.

I think Crosby only decided to shake hands when he realized how bad it looked. Not a genuine congratulations or acknowledgement of the other team's efforts.

Not to mention booing when we won the cup. We never boo'd you last year.
The Cup presentation last year
Yes, there is a boo you can hear, but that is going to happen. There will always be a few people that will boo.

Now look at this year's cup presentation
Yes, there are a lot of cheers too, but you can barely hear the man talk with all of the boos.

Plus, I'm not trying to start a fire, but I think that the Red Wings fans are just jealous and are trying to find something to beat up the Pens with.

The Penguins are not a team to be proud of.

I guess no one noted my sarcasm on this. Cindy is a whiny little baby and this makes me hate the Pens.

I am glad Pittsburgh won, but I am not a Crosby fan either. However, I do believe after reading MANY reports, and seeing Crosby going through the line, that Draper was just being a sore loser. ESPECIALLY after Chelios was known to NEVER shake hands in a playoff loss.

I think Crosby is very talented, there is just something about him that irks me, and always did. His parents as well, they just go way overboard.

Wow we have some sour grapes here. :sad2:

Whine and cry all you want , call Sidney anything you want, bottom line we are the Stanley Cup champs.

nevermind all the cheapshots the Red Wings took on our players. Or the fall-downs and acting to draw out penalties. Plus the Detroit fans are beyond rude.. To cheer when Crosby got hurt and to boo when the Penguins won is about as classless as you can get.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS and your team is not....nah nah nah! :p

Excuse me, but how many times have your Penguins won the cup???
And how many times have the Red Wings won it????

Yeah, that is what I thought!:cool2:

I wouldn't get too excited until the Penguins can prove they have a legacy of winning. They haven't done that yet.

Love the Wings, can't stand the Pens, and not because they won.
Just don't like the Pens.

Well, we just started back up again :)

And, we don't boo if we lose...
