I've been watching fares for May, and I've noticed that PIT-MCO is down to once daily, instead of twice daily. Not sure if it is select days, but I noticed on SUN/MON/FRI/SAT they don't have flights 990 and 991.

Wonder if Southwest is hurting them? SW now has 3 daily flights to MCO. At least Air Tran kept the good time flights (early morning to MCO, late afternoon return). USAir doesn't seem to want to be competitive. With flights around the same time as Air Tran for June, they want $433!

With US, they want over $400 for the flights I want. Hopefully they have a sale, or I guess we'll be flying Southwest. AirTran's flight times are nice, but we'd have to pay for an extra day with the rental car due to the times.

It really seems like US doesn't want the business in Pgh. It's a shame that is a beautiful airport. Don't get me started on what US did to Pgh.

Didn't US used to have 8-9 daily flights to Orlando? But, I guess with their 5x daily, FL's 2x daily (down to 1x), and WN's 3x daily, plus U5's 1x weekly, it's a bit too much. I bet we'll see an increase with WN, though. I thought I heard somewhere that they have a PIT expansion plan. So they may challenge US by having 5x daily as well. That is A LOT of flights for this market, though.

As a business flyer, it kills me too. It seems like every USAir flight I am on is full but they keep cutting flights. I fly alot to MSP and ATL, so I fly Northwest, Delta or Air Tran to get non-stops. I would have made preferred this year if it wasn't for having to use other airlines. I have 22 flights on USAir, 11 on NW, 4 on Delta, 2 on Air Tran. I would have been glad to give USAir my business on all of them if they would have been non-stop.

DebbieB, have you ever asked US for a challenge? If you fly so many segments in a 3 month period you can reach preferred level that way.

I haven't heard what the new US is doing with challenges for 06.

I never heard of that, how many do you have to have? I just looked at my calendar, I have 12 flights in the 4th quarter.

You have to usually ask for the challenge before you fly. I would still contact Dividend miles by phone and ask if there is one available for you. I have done this several times in the past to move up levels. I had one this year that allowed me to go from Silver to Chairmans preferred.
