Pirates Soundtrack

Yep, the soundtrack is as good as I hoped it would be. At least the first 8 tracks -- that's where I am so far. Only thing I haven't heard much of that I'd like to hear more of was Jack's cute themesong. Also haven't found any instance of the ride song at all, but that doesn't surprise me.

As a whole, it's a *very* good upbeat fast-paced album. Good one to listen to while trying to get some work done.

I had to ask about it at Best Buy. They hadn't put it on the shelf yet, but it was there. And it's a great soundtrack to keep me awake and motivated and hyper. I think I've listened to it 5 times today (repeat -- great background music) and am about to go on to time number 6

Got mine this afternoon!

It really is great...... and what a terrific way to "re-live" the movie. You can't help but picture Capt. Jack standing proudly while his ship "docks" and the swordfight scenes..... and all those other great moments that make you **sigh**.

I have already told my DH that we are buying the DVD as soon as it comes out. Do you think Disney will offer a poster.....?

I think my favorites are track 2 and track 15 (just wish 2 was longer.

Of course, this doesn't mean that I don't like the other tracks alot too!

cool....
i have the Gladiator soundtrack (also Hans Zimmer), and loved that...
in fact, half the time during the movie, i kept thinking how similar the POTC score is to Gladiator.

it's too bad that there isn't a large bit of Captain Jack Sparrow's theme (the little silly sounding bit that they repeated whenever he was doing something silly, heh).

which tracks have little bits of the Captain's theme?

Track 2 I think has it at the end. I do wish they had more of that piece, but that is the *only* complaint I have about the CD.
