Pirates Rehab Details - Finally

Thanks Mr. Matt Berman!!! :cheer2: And yes figgie, I did know what you meant, but you can't blame a seriously demented guy with absolutely no life for making a lame joke, can you? And it was a little bit funny, wasn't it??? :teeth:

No no, toche to you on that one--I set you up for it. And yeah, I did laugh when I saw that you had caught me on that mistake. That's what I get for tryin to sound smart!!

Okay guys, I am a serious no-change kinda guy. I hate change, hate it with a passion. If you told me they were re-doing the Haunted Mansion, I'd probably go on a shooting spree. But for some reason, something inside me is telling me that this new take on Pirates may be good. Call me crazy, but as long as they don't change the music or lots of the scenery, I think this could really be a good thing. However, there is also part of me that says, "TO HELL WITH CHANGING A CLASSIC!!!"

We rode "Pirates" in October and it was very ho-hum and boring. It needs a facelift!!

I posted this on the Tell No Tales message board regarding the WDW POTC:

Pirates will definitely be down april 24 thru July 4 for changes. The ships captain in the first scene is going to be more active with a new sword arm and support equipment. The biggest change of all is in the treasure scene. It will be gutted and replaced with a Jack Sparrow figure interacting with a parrot in a scene from the POC movie.

We rode this ride just two weeks ago with 4 disney vets and two folks who were seeing it for the very first time. All 6 of us would be happy with an upgrade and it doesn't sound "forced" to me precisely because the movie so heavily depended on the ride. In fact, I think the most fun we had on the ride was looking for the scenes the movie borrowed from the ride.

I am all for this, as I am now getting a little bored of the ride. i wish they would do the same for Haunted Mansion. These are great rides, but after the fiftieth time, it gets just a little boring.
