Pirates opening soon?

A co-worker of mine just came back from Disney last week and said that the Pirates of the Caribbean was supposed to open up early from refurb this summer--possibly in August. Online is says it is closed till the end of September. She was told this by two different cast members while down there. Anyone hear something similar? Do you often reopen rides early from being closed for refurb?

Yes it happens occasionally.

But what also happens (quite frequently) is CMs giving out misleading information. I wouldn't count on it being open early.

I haven't heard anything, just Sept 26th. I don't see it being open a month early. Maybe a few days, but not a month.

The CMs that said the info about opening in August probably have no idea what their talking about and going off rumors. You can't trust the word of CMs that aren't a part of the refurb process

I'm there Aug 24-31 and would love to see it open at some point during that week!

We are going 8/27 thru 9/6. I would be thrilled if we could get even one day to ride it. Everytime I think of going, I just keep thinking about Pirates being closed.

I can remember a ride opening up a day or two before the rehab was to be complete but does anyone remember any ride opening up "weeks" before the scheduled rehab completion? I am not going to get my hopes up but would be ecstatic if it ever happened.

Our last MK day in of the 25th, just one day before the scheduled opening. I am really hoping we get lucky!

I'm happy I live close to DL, and can ride our POTC here anytime I want. I hate POTC at WDW. It's just a waste of time.

But OP didn't say his co-worker said it came from a CM. It could've come from someone next to him in a line someplace.
