The Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland has two dips (in the dark), so I was wondering if the one at WDW does too?

My dd7 (but 5 when we went to DL) doesn't want to go on it if it does.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

OK WDW - we're comin' , we're comin'

Yes...it just has the one and it is dark, but it's right at the beginning, then you can enjoy the rest of the ride. Usually by the end of the ride the kids have forgotten about the drop and want to go on again.

We were at the park last week and my 9 yr old niece went on this ride. It completely ruined her for other rides! It seemed to be much darker than in the past. She refused to go on Splash Mountain after Pirates.:( Splash seemed darker too! Just keep this in mind:wave:

Thanks everyone for your replies - I guess we'll just have to see how it goes.

We're still a ways away from our trip - one moment the girl is brave and wants to do it all - the next moment - 'no way mom'.

(It's so easy to be brave when you're safe at home - I have delusions of going over to Universal IOA and riding all those monstrous coasters I've been reading about, but I'm sure once I see them in person I'll be the one chickening out - LOL)

it depends on the kid

my daughter first went on PIRATES when she was 1.5 years old and was a little iffy. She went again at 2.5 years old and luvs it.

she sings the PIRATES son=g all the time
