Pirates of the Caribbean Groom's Cake!

Has anyone done a Pirates of the Caribbean or Jack Sparrow themed Groom's Cake? Any pictures? Websites of some sample pics? I want to surprise my hubby with a groom's cake, but I wanted to send the Disney bakers some cake samples.

It's crazy, but I'm not really sure. Something either with Jack Sparrow or the skull/cross bones from the Movie. I Like the pirate ship though!

Perhaps you could think of your favorite scene from the movie and ask the FTW folks if the GF Bakery could come up with something along those lines. Those folks are pretty creative and they just might surprise you with the perfect groom's cake. But be prepared to pay the price. Creativity doesn't come cheap.

Thanks! I love them all! I sent some of the pics to my wedding coordinator. She is going to see what the bakers come up with and let me know cost etc. I will let you guys know how it goes. Thanks for the help!

Roozlilone, I was doing a search regarding grooms cakes and the following post from April of 2006 popped up. The cake looked phenomenal.

Grooms cakes are so completely different, it is impossible for WDW to have a blanket price for them. No 2 are alike. Each grooms cake is priced on difficulty and size. Difficulty translates into how many hours will it take the pastry chefs to complete the guest request, and size as to how much product will be used in the creation.

this cake was over $1200 5 years ago.

If Disney could create an adorable cake like that, I can only imagine what kind of Pirates of the Caribbean cake they can create for you. I've got my fingers crossed that they're going to knock your socks off.

My Wedding Coordinator just emailed me back and said they could do a Pirates cake similar to my photo below for $65 for 10 inch round! She said the Yacht Club Bakery would do the cake and it would be served during our dessert party. I said "go for it!" Keeping my fingers crossed the cake turns out great!

WOW! What a great price! We have a flag that looks just like that hanging in our garage(the man room) i might have to borrow your idea- I wonder if they would do it for our rehearsal????

We did a groom's cake for our rehearsal and I bought it through the bakery at the Dolphin. Our rehearsal dinner was actually over there, but I had called the Boardwalk Bakery first on pricing. The prices were a little better through the Dolphin. I wasn't looking for anything too fancy either. It was only $80 for the sheet cake which served over 30 people. It was a chocolate peanut butter mousse cake. My DH's nickname is moose, so I had them make one with a moose image on it:

I know, I was expecting at least over $100 so when she came back with $65 I was thrilled. We don't need anything too big because we are serving it at our dessert party. There will already be way too much sugar! I'm sure they could do something like that for your rehearsal, just ask! My DH has a flag like that too hanging in his "man closet," yes he turned his walk-in closet into his man cave. I wouldn't give him a whole room.

"man closet" THAT IS FUNNY! Men are such an interesting breed!! DF spends so much time just standing in the garage--- i'm glad he is surrounded by his disney friends!

NO! Just kidding! I think that is the whole point of the board is to post ideas so someone else can steal it. Half of my VR has been hijacked from other weddings on the board! I would love to see some Pirate cakes!

WOW! They did a great job on that cake! In the picture it looks real!(other than the controller thing-which I didn't know about )
