Pirates of the Caribbean.... 4

Like all movies, if the sequels do well they'll keep them coming. Its just fiscally smart. X-Men 3 cleaned up this weekend. Its supposed to be the last one, but with the money it made I doubt it.

Can you believe this article? No matter what the subject, JHM goes out of there way to spin this in a negative light? "How much Pirates is too much Pirates?" What a ridiculous question!

Disney finally has the makings of a great franchise and one that appeals to even the die-hard Disney fans, and we are supposed to not like the idea that there may be more movies? Or books for kids? Or a video game?

JMH have really topped themselves this time. Can he at least TRY to at least sound like he's not grinding his axe??

Ok I know Jim Hill has his off days ...

Yes, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

I'm officially starting another rumor. Jim Hill is in fact AnotherVoice.

C'mon, AV refers to Hill as a "Disney shill". And, AV would never wear socks with sandals. And another thing, what makes you think AV is a guy?

If you stay until all the credits are finished rolling, you will see a 30 second clip that leaves no doubt that there will be another X-men movie!

And Jim Hill is from Mass, I only know that because he talked about the storms we had a few weeks ago, So he is either from New Hampshire or Mass

I believe AV's avatar says he is from Cali

With 3 already in the can I think PotC could be the next Star Wars and keep on going there is so much that could go from the past to the present.

II looks so well done that it's not even funny. And yes Disney PAID a lot of money but when you let something into a thing like THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE you know you have a real winner.

Lets not forget J.Depp says he's having the most fun while in Character for this roll.

I was actually only kidding. Although neither one of them can give Disney any credit for anything they have done in recent years.

Curses! My nefarious plan to destroy good and benevolent Disney is smashed by the superfan watchdog MJMcBride! I must retire to my secret lair to prepare another devious scheme!

Although neither one of them can give Disney any credit for anything they have done in recent years.
Don’t worry; the same shortsighted forces that destroyed the organization I respected are still at work. Pretty soon they’ll begin chomping away on what you like as well. You too will shortly be posting about "the good old days"...

P.S. As for Pirates 4, name any movie series that had four good movies in a row. Disney is best to stop while they’re ahead rather than ruining the franchise.

Just a few but I think they are very good and Pirates has that capability of going a bit longer but we will have to see what 3 has in store.

Star Wars 4 out of 6 is not bad.

Harry Potter

Police Academy :lmao: Ok I was really just kidding on that one.

Shame on you AV. James Bond! The Holy Grail of ALL film series. The very reason why we have SO many films try to be a series-type franchise. The first 4 films; Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger and Thunderball, are all classics. After that, they don't ALL have to be great to keep people coming back for more.

I, like everyone else, have yet to see Dead Man's Chest. So to say they will ruin it, is a bit...speculative.

Okay. I'll grant you James Bond - but Johnny Dipp is no Sean Connery. I don't think a swishy pirate is going to have the same staying power as a double-0 agent.

Actually, Star Wars is the best example I can think of for "stopping while your ahead". No one is really clamouring for any more movies, are they.

Maybe not after Phantom Menace but they sure as heck are after Revenge of the Sith.

You're kidding right? No matter how bad Phantom Menace was, people still went to Clones. No matter how bad Clones was, people still went to Sith. And now Sith has done very well, and rewarded many who sat through the other two. Who to say future movies won't continue to get better like Sith did?

There are any films in the Bond catalog that were not terrific, but others came after them that were. Thankfully, they didn't take your "quit whilw they're ahead" approach, and instead tried to make something better.

As a fan of the REAL Disney, I am disgusted by the POTC movie "franchise" and all of the other greed-influenced efforts to saturate the market with a rip-off of the classic theme park attraction. And then the morons at the former Walt Disney Company have the nerve to destroy the classic attraction by adding crap from these movies.

I know I am in the minority on this board with my opinion, but to paraphrase someone else here, just wait. If they are allowed to continue down this path of destruction, Disney will eventually ruin something that all of you like, and then you will join the dark side.

I think the director of PotC stayed so TRUE to the RIDE and paid it the respect it deserved.

Did you even see the movie almost every sceen from the ride is in the movie I loved when the Pirate with the pigs it so reminded me of being on the RIDE.

People aren't going to know what to do when a giant squid comes out an attacks their boat :stir: JK but stuff like that would only add to the attraction not diminish it in any way.

Frankly, I don't know what this means. I know I'm a fan of the REAL Disney too and I love the first Pirate movie. It was fun (although a tad long). I also love SOME of the attractions they have added in recent years and dislike others. They haven't ruined Pirates for me.

If when you say fan of the REAL Disney you really mean "refuse to give Disney any credit for anything they have done in the last 15 years". Well, I'm sure you'll find some allies.

Depends on which era you are from! :teeth: Love Sean Connery (fellow Scot here! :) ) but I'd have Johnny Depp's "swishy pirate" any day! pirate:  ;)

I guess once they announced a new trilogy, they had to stick to it. BTW, I liked all 3 new, prequel movies - not the same as the original trilogy, different but good! :yoda: :ewok: :chewy: :darth: :thumbsup2
