Hi - I have 4 yr old b/g twins.... Anyone have any experience with the pirates league? Good experience for both boys and girls?

My son loved it. He was 6 at the time. He got more attention then his 4yo sister did who had the BBB complete makeover (and his complete makeover was 1/3 the cost of hers). My now 7yo daughter wants to do it this year.

Both of my daughters (8 & 4) really enjoyed Pirates League. My DD (8) had been to BBB on a prior trip and she like PL more. I also think it is a better value than BBB.

We took our daughters, 6 & 3, in December. They LOVED it! My three-year-old princess got to be a mermaid and the older daredevil was the pirate princess. We also did BBB and they loved that too but I liked PL more. They are amazing with the kids!

why not? The little girl pirates are adorable. but they do a mermaid look, too.

ok I wasn't sure. I was thinking of taking my daughter to BBB but then when I read about PL, I was thinking that could be just as good. The cost of BBB is crazy!

They were good with the 3 yr old? I'm thinking of doing this with my grandson next Dec. He will be 3 in August and wasn't sure if they did it for kids that age.

I took my boy/girl twins to the Pirate's League a month after they turned 4 (in 2010).
We did the basic packages, though my daughter did the girl version of the regular pirate package (not sure the name). She got glittery makeup and nail polish.
She really enjoyed it. My son was tired and needed a nap so he did not enjoy it as much, plus his pirate didn't really put a lot of effort into getting him to participate. He didn't like the feel of the makeup on his face, either (something I probably should have tested on him ahead of time).
My daughter's lady pirate was very good.

They both enjoyed the naming ceremony, getting their swords and going into the secret room more than the actual make up part.
I do have the best pictures from inside the room. They both had fun posing, and then, when we were getting the photos, they each wanted a bag of gems, so that was the highlight for them, too. And they played with the sword, sash and coins when they got home for months afterward.

I'd say as long as you can pick a good time when your twins aren't tired, they will really enjoy it. I would test to see how they like make up being applied first, just to be sure they are prepared for the experience.

My decision to do Pirate's league was really cemented by the fact my daughter did not like having her hair brushed so BBB was out of the questions. And this way, the twins could do something together and one wasn't left out. Really a good choice for b/g twins or brothers and sisters close in age.

Great for boys and girls. We took my 3 (boy 9, girls 7 and 4) to PL and BBB last summer. They all preferred PL more and it was much cheaper. My littlest girl chose to wear her Izzy costume and get a pirate makeover, while my oldest girl decided to wear an Ariel costume and get a mermaid makeover.

They will be fine with a 3 year old. Their FAQ says that you must be at least 3 to participate, so there shouldn't be any issues. I know they were fantastic with my 4 year old!

I've taken our boys twice, the first when my youngest was 4. He adored it. He got the Jake Package, not as much make-up, which was good since he was little. Our pirate was delightful. They also altered the "program" a bit since he was younger. My older son, 10 at the time, got much more kidding around, which he loved. If they had done that to my younger one, I think he may not have understood the humor. It was perfect for them and I was thrilled how the Pirates adjusted the show based on their ages. It has both times been one of the highlights of the trip. We also did the Pirate Training afterwards with Jack Sparrow. Both times my boys were chosen to be part of the show - a real delight. I say go for it!!!
