For those who have done Pirates League...

Does the make up smear easily? What about removal of it - how hard was it to clean off?

We are planning to do Pirates League as a surprise for our kiddos, but I'm curious if I should bring an eyeliner pen for touch up in case of smudging (there's no way my 5 year old doesn't touch his face), and whether I should bring makeup remover or just plan to use soap and a rag.

My kids didn't smudge, and if they did it only enhanced the look of bruising so it didn't matter! Washed off easily with soap and water.

My son did the full skull face and it was really hard for me to get it off! I used my own facial cleanser, regular mickey soap, coconut oil, sunblock, baby wipes... He looked like he was wearing eyeliner for the next two days because I really couldn’t scrub his eyes.
On the plus side it looked great all day with very little smudging.

It's good to hear it didn't smudge for you all!

So maybe washability depends on what they choose... I will bring gentle makeup remover and hope for the best! I figure at least one of them is going for skull.

My son did the full skull face and the only smudging I remember was his lips and around his mouth after he ate lunch. I used my makeup remover cleansing cloths.

Baby wipes for removal. It lasts for days otherwise and soap never did a thing. You can’t get the eyes well enough with soap without burning the eyes. It’s good quality stage make-up.

My 5 year old son's smudged a bit around his mouth where he touched it, but not much. And I found it really hard to get off as well! I didn't have baby wipes along or makeup remover wipes so I really had to scrub and my kids weren't too happy about it! :(

Yes, the makeup smears very easily! However, it is super hard to remove!

The best way to remove it was dove soap and a small towel.

My son's smudged a lot. He was the scruffy looking pirate and his beard and eyebrows smudged a lot. The girls had normal makeup so it was not as smudgy. I would bring a pencil for touchups.

My nephew did the full skull face, and it lasted all day, with only a little smudging from eating. (he was also taking being a pirate pretty seriously and didn't touch it much) We took it off with coconut oil and makeup remover. It took some scrubbing, but he returned to being a little boy again. (much to his dismay)

DD has been a Mermaid the past several trips. The eye makeup did not smudge nor needed to be touched up. BUT getting all that blue off is a different story. We found that baby wipes and cetaphil cleaning cloths worked the best.
