Pirates just went splat

on Tuesday in the middle of the afternoon, in order to avoid big crowds. For a work day it was quite crowded.

I liked the movie, not as much as the first one though. It was kind of all over the place and convoluted. But, I thought the stunts and special effects, oh..and the Davy Jones and crew costumes were great. I even enjoyed the musical score. And, Johnny Depp of course.

So - on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best. I would give it a 3.

And, I never pay attention to critics. We too often love the movies that critics hate.

We saw it on its first weekend and it was great. I can't wait for the third one. This has been a great summer for Disney films. First Cars and now Pirates.

I've taken my kids twice now to see POTC 2. I have to say that after the second viewing the plot made more sense. I don't know if the first time I was to keyed into what my kids were thinking or how crowded it was, but I missed a major plot key the first time. I missed the whole where the compass was pointing. DH of course thinks I'm an idiot for not picking up on that the first time.
