Has anyone been to the Pirates Dinner Show? Thinking about going in Aug and wondering if it is any good. Also if anyone remembers about the menu that would be great...

We went last June. It was a fun, but long evening. When you arrive, you are kept in a waiting area where there are some chips and salsa, a cash bar, and shops. The show started 45 minutes late on the night that we went. Kids can participate in the show, and that was a trip highlight for our boys, ages 4 and 6. The food is average. We attended because DSs are pirate fanatics. I am glad that we went but we probably wouldn't go again.

We had already ordered tickets for this coming June when we read a few bad reports.

We are still going (don't have a lot of choice) but it certainly can't be as bad as a Cosmos night out we paid for on Gran Canaria a few years ago!

Have a leaflet that arrived with our tickets. The stage (a pirate whip "afloat in a 300,000 gallon lagoon) looks very impressive.

The menu:-

Matey Bread, Tossed Garden-Fresh Salad, Treasure's chicken (portions of roasted chicken marinated in a savory lemon-pepper sauce), Buccanneer Beef (cuts of beef "cooked to perfection"), West Indies Rice and mixed seasonal veg. Apple cobbler a la mode, coffees. Complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks during the main show.

Vegetarian and kid's meals available.

Can anyone tell me how far this Show is from WDW? We are going in March and have rev. Trying to figure out how much a cab would cost us.
Thanks

Hello, I am not sure about cab rates, but I do have a total estimated milage from mapquest. The milage is from the Wilderness Lodge (only disney address I knew off hand) to the Pirate Dinner Show (1 way).

Continue to follow FL-535 S. 0.47 miles 6: Merge onto I-4 E toward ORLANDO. 6.12 miles 7: Take the SR-482/SAND LAKE RD exit- exit number 74A. 0.25 miles 8: Turn RIGHT onto FL-482 E/SAND LAKE RD. 0.16 miles 9: Turn LEFT onto INTERNATIONAL DR. 0.44 miles 10: Turn RIGHT onto CARRIER DR. 0.05 miles

The set really is nifty. In fact, for some folks, it may be the best part of the show.

Still, I really ernjoyed the show. It's silly and fun and high-spirited and the kids get a kick out of it, especially the audience participation.
