Pirates Dinner Adventure

We attended this about three weeks ago. Was it worth paying full-price to see? I don't believe so...but that's my opinion. We attended a time-share presentation and received the tickets as our reward for sitting through the presentation and saying "no" a billion times.

Here's the basics of the show. You get in line (as early as possible) and are "assigned" a color section. This will be your area to sit..and you'll have a pirate to cheer for... You can upgrade your tickets and be assigned excellent seats in the middle sections and a better chance at being picked to participate (more on that in a minute).

After you enter, there is a photo op. We never turn down a photo op... 'cause you don't have to buy, but having the picture taken gives you the option. Ours actually turned out really cute! Then you go through a buffet appetizer line. During this portion of the show, you'll have to buy any drinks that you want. Then the show begins. First, a couple of rounds of hot appetizers (potato skins, pigs 'n blankets, etc). Then several rounds of audience participate-type game. HINT: If you can, get your husband and any kids to volunteer!!! Take a camera!!!

Then the pirates come out to get their sections. You're seated arena-style around the pirate ship (yes, it's afloat..you're not!). Loud cheers, swarthy pirates, and mayhem begins. Then the servers strart bringing out food and drink. It's all you drink (and probably all you can eat...but we filled up on one plate, so I don't know).

Food - beef and chicken OR beef and shrimp. My husband ended up with all three, 'cause he wasn't listening to the server. You can choose rice or potatoes. I think there was also some veggies...and you get a roll. Food wasn't bad...pretty tasty for a dinner show (it's not Longhorn Steakhouse...but it's not McDonalds either). All that you can drink - house wine, beer, and soda. Then dessert... I think it was apple cobbler. You are given an opportunity to tip your server (suggested amt was $5pp)...our server was very friendly. He made sure our drinks were always full and checked back with us to see if we wanted more to eat.

After the show (where you're eating, yelling, and having a good time), you're invited back to a dance party...but we elected not to go as we were headed to the Port the next morning.

It was a cute show (the kids in the audience seemed to be having a great time...it was just my husband and me).

Again -- would I pay $ 95 for me and hubby to see it? Nope..not that much of a once in a lifetime experience, but if you can get discounted tickets (or do the timeshare thing), then I think you'd have a pretty good time.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Pretty much agree with all of the above and if you can get discounted tickets for around $38.00 A , $ 26.00 C then it's well worth it.

Dinner shows come in all kinds of formats but this is one of the better ones. Dolly Parton's, Medieval Times and SoulFire being my other picks.

I second FLeisures choices.....Dixie Stampede (Dolly Parton's show) was good fun, and has an amazing pre-show. Pirates and Medieval Times are similar in my mind, worth it if you can get them at a good rate.

I can get tickets for $29.00 and $21.50. I think that we are going to try it at that price. I appreciate everyone's input.
