Just read Deb's weekly newsletter and there was a tip from a reader indicating she'd gotten an email survey from WDW asking about a new character meal.

"...the survey specifically focused on a Captain Jack Sparrow character meal. The description of the meal was: "Board a pirate vessel from a resort and sail to Pirate's Cove, where Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of bandits have cooked up a beach barbecue. Salty songs, tall tales, delicious food, and a hunt for the fabulous Tortuga Treasure spice up this fun-filled evening under the stars. Guests are given a clue-filled treasure map, and friendly competition is held to find the priceless prize." They proposed an adult price of $49."

From the location, it sounds like it could be the old River Country site. I'd love to see them do something with that space, and this would fit perfectly. I can see them launching from a lagoon resort, WL or even the MK park dock. Hope they do it!

That sounds awesome! I love the idea--hope it comes to fruition!

It would also be neat to sail to the old Discovery Island and have it there- nothing has been doing on Discovery Island in a long time.

Where is Mickey's Backyard BBQ held? Isn't it near River country?

More than likey its the Backyard BBQ Location, which by the way was once part of River County.

That was me who got the survey and reported it to Deb's site.

River Country would need a lot of cleaning up. I think the old fixtures are still there. I think Discovery Island would be a better choice.

Or perhaps one of the locations where they take the kids on their morning pirate cruises.

I thought of Discovery Island too, but I think that may still be designated as a wildlife/conservation area, which would mean they are restricted as to what facilities they can add there. I just want to see them DO something with the old River Country, so maybe it's just wishful thinking, but even if its elsewhere it sounds cool!

Mickey's BBQ site make the most sense since Disney wouldn't have to do much more than just decorate, re-theme the location.
