Is there a thread that explains this game or could someone explain some things I'm confused on?

I was playing a two on two game and my team mate had the flag and the other team had one member shot and the other was headed towards his/her flag. My team mate told me not to shoot the other player and that we'd get more points if he delayed going into the circle. I'm trying to understand all this and am also confused some on the points. Again when it was my turn to go in the circle with the flag, he told me to wait. So could someone help me out and explain all this point stuff?

Thank you

hmm i am unaware of the waiting to get more points, ill have to try. For what I know about flag:

If your team does not have flag and you sink the other team most likely they will win, which ever flag is closer to the opposing base wins if no team moved the flag its pretty much a 50% chance depending on the orignal placement of how close the flags are.

If your team has flag onboard and sink the other team you win.

I forget what the points are but if you capture the flag and do not return it you get half the points you would get for returning the flag.

and what ever you do dont kill a little boat that has the flag!

I think what they may have meant is that when you are playing Capture the Flag, you don't want to kill both opponents before you get their flag back to your own circle. If you have the flag and kill off all of the other team members before entering your own "safe circle" then you get less credits than you would if you get the flag back home. You will still win the game if you kill all of the opponents, but you don't get as many credits as you would if you put the flag in the circle. So what we do when I play (and hopefully my team member understands this too) is kill the other team down to one member and then try to block the last player by getting in their path and stopping them from getting to their home base. While letting my team member have the time to carry the flag to our base.

I hope this makes sense. pirate:

HAPPY PIRATING!!pirate: pirate:

Better yet is to play pirates with your friends and have nobody shoot each other. If you let each team get the flag each round, but then alternate who takes it back to home base, then the winning team gets 471 credits (on double credit Thursday) and the losing team gets 221 (on double credit Thursday).

ok I tried to play around with the game to figure out more points, here it is:

32 points if your team captures flag.
57 points for returning flag to your base.
So if you have the flag onboard and the other team is sunk before you return your flag to base then you only get the 32 points for the team + indiviual points, 5 points per hit, for shooting other team.

To get the maximum points in a round, your team needs to capture flag and return to your base, you sink all enemy ships except for 1.

This is how I like to play... would get maximum credits if all goes well(results depend on other players and is based on being a cut throat pirate show no mercy! ) 2vs2
Round 1: I play with Wicked Wench and gaurd flag.
Teammate uses Black Pearl and captures flag.
Opposing player (typically in Pearl) tries to capture flag I sink that ship for my credits (20 points)
Teammate then returns to base with flag without shotting other ship.
Points: Me 57+20=77 points, my teammate 57 and the enemy 0
Round 2: Show no mercy! let other team capture flag then sink the 2 enemy ships(teammate cant get other teams flag)
Points: Me 40(sinking 2 ships), teammate 0 points, enemy 0
Round 3: repeat round 1
Total Points: Me: 194 teammate: 114 enemy: 0

of course this wouldnt happen very often, that just 1 scenario

Ok let me try to explain this:

I think what your team mate was wanting you to do was lose that round, so that you each had 1 win each.

Delaying the opposing team from going into the circle in itself does not get you anymore points.

Hitting the opposing team until they are all small does get you more points. Hopefully they will get big again and you can make them small once again, this increases your credit total at the end considerably.

Contrary to what was posted you can sink a small row with the flag if they have not made it half way to their port. If they have made it half way or more you will lose the round.

Delaying entry to port to my knowledge gets you no more points.

I have over 6,000 wins and if that is true it is news to me.

To acheive the high score board and maxium points you want to shoot your opposing team until all small - win the first round, lose the second but have flag on board and win the third.

I hope that explained it a little better and if you have any questions just post, always happy to help. The more that understand how to play capture the more fun the game is and the better the credits.

you also get bonus points for winning the round.
