Just got the DVC Disney Files magazine today and there is an article about a Tuesday night Pirate Party this summer.....does anyone know any details about it?

THANKS!pirate:

I was wondering the same thing! Maybe they haven't started doing them yet? I'm guessing this will take the place of the weekly barbecue they used to do? We'll be there over the 4th of July, I'll be interested to hear about the pirate party!

On TUesday nights they always have a pool party so it sounds like this year it will be themed - pirates! My DS will be very pleased!!! DD maybe not as much. :)

We just got back from HHI. The Pirate party is the Tuesday night BBQ they renamed Pirate party-- there is an extra cost for this ~$22/adult I don't remember the cost for kids. The activity sheet didn't list any additional activities for 'Pirate Night'.

Thanks for letting us know.

GRR of course we head there tomorrow and aren't staying over on a Tuesday!!!

Just wondering if anyone else has done this recently? Will we be able to do any of the activities if we're not purchasing the BBQ meal, or is it all part of the same package? My DS is 10 and I know he's not going to eat enough to justify the adult meal price but pirate activities could be fun! pirate:

We went to the Pirate BBQ. You needed to purchase a wrist band for the food. They gave out bandanas and eye patches to those eating, too. THey had pirate decorations and pirate music playing. After eating, there was a pool party. They had sno cones, face painting, balloon animals and line dancing. It was a great time. You would not need to eat to take part in the activities. I highly recommend it. The food was good and a lot for your money...bbq ribs, chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, corn bread, cole slaw, watermelon, apple pie, lemonade and sweet tea! YUM!

We were there tonight too and had a great time. We did the BBQ and pool party. Our kids are 5 & 9 so the price wasn't too bad, however I was thinking the same as you for next year when oldest turns 10 its a big jump in price. We might eat in our room and then join in at 6:30 for all the activities and pool party. My kids get so excited about getting in all the activities that they hardly fill themselves before they go join the other fun.
