Which do your children prefer? If you really only have time for one, which do you choose and why?

Try for both! The tutorial is approx. 20 minutes, kids can participate up on stage, we see some kids get really into it and some shy away. The Pirate Adventure is a self-paced scavenger hunt type activity that takes place in several spots in Adventureland. There are 6 separate adventures that are offered separately and that include different clues and effects. If you are short on time just try one of the adventures, and all the family can participate in it. Can take 20 - 30 minutes depending on how fast you find the 5 or 6 activity spots for clues and if there are people in front of you working on the adventure. They are both very different, depends on which you think would interest your kids more.

My 8 year old son was happy to be selected for the Jack Sparrow Pirate Tutorial....

What age kids is the Pirate's Adventure aimed for? What is the youngest that you think would be able to enjoy it? My kids love pirates and are going to be bummed that PoC is closed while we are there. Maybe this would give them their pirates "fix"?

My 10 & 7 year old grandsons loved the Pirate Adventure. They did all 6 maps (over 2 days). That was the 10 year old's favorite part of the whole Disney trip! My only issue was that we kept losing track of them as they followed the map looking for the next clue. But we all had fun watching the magic stuff that happened.

I just noticed the ages of your kids. They would probably enjoy watching the "magical" stuff like cannons firing and the snake spitting. You could use the map to find the clues. They would most likely need help with the map. It's certainly worth trying one--especially if there's not line at the place where you pick up the map. We went Apr 2014 and encountered just a few people picking up maps.

Thank you! I will keep my eye out for the line and we will give it a try if we can get a map easily. I think they would like it!
