I've never been to Disneyland, but my best friend moved to Carlsbad a few years ago. She's not as Disney crazy as me, but she loves Pirates like I do. I try to visit her every year, and this time I was hoping to talk her into a DL trip. I could kick myself for not going to the premier in July, but I'm in grad school and that was my summer midterm. This time around, does anyone know if the premier will be in the park again? My friend and I would love to go if so. If not, how does one go to a Hollywood premier? I imagine all about connections, but a girl can dream! :rotfl:

I would think so .

They are even rumors going around of changing TSI to a pirates theam.

I've heard that rumor about TSI, not sure how I feel about it...

But thanks for the reply. I would be soo excited if I can combine my visit with some Disney magic and Pirates!

There have been rumors about the premier being moved to WDW or a beach in Cal. somewhere. The WDW idea probably wont hapen because of weather issues and Disney doesn't want to spend the money to fly a few Stars to florida when they can get 100's of stars to come to it if it is in Cal at no cost. The beach thing is a possiblity, but I would guess they would stick with having it in DL.

Right now it's undecided where the primier of the 3rd POTC will be. Walt Disney World is fighting to get it, but the execs don't want it to be there. Also, Disney is trying hard to get the third cruise line up and running. If that gets off the water (pun intended - teehee) they may have it be on the cruiseline. However, if those two things fall through then Disneyland shall get it.

If it's to tie in with the cruiseline, I wonder if they'll do it on a docked ship...or maybe it'll be on the Black Pearl! That could be interesting. I'll have to keep my ears and eyes open, because it'd be awesome to attend either way.

It's in DL. And it will be memorial day weekend. The news broke a while back and I was lucky enough to get the info. I also found out from a cast memeber you can go in and play in the park till a certain time then they close it off, if your lucky enough to find a spot on main street you can stay and watch who arrives on the red carpet then they kick you all out so they can do the premier.

When is that???? I always get confused on my holidays! This last summer when they had the movie, the park was packed. It was wonderful though to find out that the stars from the movie were so gracious to the Make a Wish kids! I love those stories, this was a majic summer for my family! :Pinkbounc :wizard:

It's the last weekend of May 2007. Although the actual day is what's not been decided on yet. It may be Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday Memorial Day. Keep your eye's peeled it will leak out soon.

Check out this article http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al100306a.htm

The movie is supposed to be released Memorial day weekend, which probably means the Wednesday before. That would be May 23. Or May 25 if it is released on a Friday.

For POTC 2 they did the premiere at DL 2 weeks before the movie was released. That would put the premier sometime in mid-May, maybe a little earlier.

There is talk that the premiere may not be at DL this time but possibly it may be in Long Beach. Here is an excerpt from the above article:

The pirates movie premiere is slated for Southern California for a third time next May, although it may take on a different format than the previous two events. Some managers in Walt Disney World had lobbied to have the next premiere staged at their property, but they were shot down by Burbank executives who didn't want to put up with the hot and rainy Florida climate or the cost of flying in a dozen or two celebrities when they could have 100 celebs happily show up for a fraction of the cost in warm and dry Anaheim.

But this time, instead of staging the premiere inside Disneyland, the event may end up on the shoreline near Long Beach. If Rasulo has his way, they will have pulled the financials together and be able to use the movie premiere to announce that the third ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet is being built and will be home ported in Southern California. Regardless of where and when that announcement is made, it's a commitment that should be announced by next summer with a first year sailing itinerary slated for the end of this decade. You can expect summertime trips up to British Columbia and the Alaskan glaciers, and wintertime trips down the Mexican Riviera, all tied in to a few additional days at Disneyland.

Pirates 2 was acctually premiered in Disneyland either June 23 or June 24. I got an email for it, and I specifically remember that because we were in WDW at that time on our 14 day trip, and we were not leaving to head home till the 25th. I remember trying to get a last minute flight from Orlando to Los Angeles on the morning of the 22 to make it in time. Unfortunatly we were unable so we finished our trip at WDW. It usually premiers 7 - 10 days before actual release.

POTC II premiere was Saturday, June 24 (I was there) at Disneyland. And the opening day release was on Friday, July 7 (I was there, too, at the 11:15pm Downtown Disney show), so the premiere was 2 weeks before the actual release date.

I sure hope they have it at Disneyland again. Although it was crowded, I enjoyed the day and the entertainment they had for the guests lining the red carpet.

I'm hearing rumors that POTC3 might premiere at Long Beach for a Disney Cruise Line promotion.

Now, last year people were saying that POTC 2 would premiere at WDW. That didn't happen. I was at the DL premiere this year.

I think we won't know for sure when and where the POTC3 premiere will happen until a couple months before premiere date.

Hold on to your hats matey's until further notice. pirate:

Will the POTC ride be closed? The 23,24,25th of April because of the Premier!?!? Oh please say NO!! I cant change the time I'm going with out MAJOR headache if at all!

We are planning on going to DL the last week of May/First week of June. As much fun as it would be to see a premeier, I am kind of glad that it will be before we get there. If we ended up being there during the premeier I would try to go since I am sure it would be my one and only chance to ever see something like that. However, I wouldn't envy fighting crowds and being kicked out of DL early. The release date for POTC 3 is May 25th, I would really love to wait to see the movie until we get there though :) I am glad that POTC ride will be open, it was closed when we where there last year and I missed it!!
