Hi!

On our last trip to WDW 12/07), I remember seeing a pirate ship toy that had some characters (I think there was a pirate Mickey among them) dressed in pirate gear. It reminded me of the castle playset that we bought (which we love). We had reached our limit on purchases on that trip (according to my dh, at least :rotfl: ), but would love to get it on our trip to DL (if they have it). Anyone seen this for sale at DL and maybe know the price?

I saw it last week at World of Disney in DTD, not sure of price though.

My son has the Peter Pan ship that you can buy at Toys r Us and you can also just buy the set of just the Mickey and characters in the pirate attire. It worked out great since we already had the ship and Pirate Mickey and Pirate Goofy get to hang out with Tinkerbell, Tick Tock, etc.

oooh this is something that dd would LOVE too! I will have to look for it on our trip!

Pretty sure we have what you're describing. Has a ship, a palm tree, a little shack. Pirate Mickey, Donald, Pete, and Goofy (that's all DS has brought into me right now).

It's VERY cute, and DS loves it.

I'll look through my receipts from that trip later when I can get to them, and I'll let you know, but it was very reasonable for all the fun DS has had with it!

We got it at the biiiiig store on Main Street, in the little nook of the store across from the small part where they sell jewelry or something like that.

Awesome! Thanks so much everyone!

I bought the one Bumbershoot described for $18 at the store near the front of DCA

$18!!!!!!!!!!! If I would have known it was that cheap I totally could have talked dh into it at WDW. I think we paid around $50 or $60 for the castle playset and thought that was a pretty fair price. I know the pirate set isn't as elaborate, but $18 is super cheap for such a park item, I feel.

Found my receipt! :)

What we have is called, on said receipt, the PRR Pirate Lg Box Set, sku 400008364034, for 18.50. Plus Anaheim tax = 19.33.

Nice part about the set is that if you can manage to keep at least the bottom of the box (which we barely have been able to do, LOL), it's a nice contained place to play with the toys. Has that adorable Mickey-as-pirate logo and the background looks sort of like an antique map.

Wow was it that cheap? I was way off, that's what I get for trying to guess something that was a few years ago! LOL

We have the castle too, the one with the buttons so that the castle lights up in different colors? Love that castle!

It's possible we're talking about different things. I should take a picture later.

But I'm in the middle of organizing reams of paperwork...and, um, watching Indiana Jones. :)

Thank you guys so much! I still can't get over how cheap that is. Don't tell Disney... but I was preparing myself to pay much more:ssst: bumbershoot thanks so much for finding your receipt to confirm the price. You are way more organized than me.

JenDisneylandlver that is the same castle we have and we just adore it. My kids play with it virtually every day. I thought the pirate ship would be a nice addition to our little playset. Sort of our very own pirates and princesses party pirate:

I have that same castle form 2005. It is mine. I have two boys, but my youngest loves to play with it. Almost immedietly, he broke the flags off, so the poles are in the hole, and also broke Sleeping Beauty in half. Wish I would have known about Deliver-Ears at that time. They were awesome when my sons train did not work and we were gone from DLR. The just sent us a new engine and coal cart. They had the Mickey engineer figure, so I got an extra non working set for display because we did not have to send the broken one back.

I do wish they would just make them better to begin with!

Yes,

Maybe it is on clearance now? I want to say that I purchased mine for about $40 or so last May (POTC 3 Premiere!!!) It was the Pirate ship, with pirate Mickey, Pluto, Minnie as the RedHead, Donald, and a bunch of accessories (lifeboat, cannon, boxes, etc.)
We usually just buy everything that we want and don't worry about the price, as well as have everything shipped home. The themeparks are the only place in the world that sell these items, and we don't want to regret not getting something later.

DS's doesn't have Pluto or Minnie, so there very well might be a couple pirate sets that are being talked about. I'll try to remember to take a picture and post it.

If you don't want to wait for your trip, you may be able to order the toy through this phone number (800) 362-4533 although I'm not sure if it still works.

Okey dokey, taking those pictures caused the start of a BIG project to rename the pictures from the last year (ugh) from things like IMG918 dot jpg to more meaningful things like sept18number5. :)

So it took a bit longer than expected.

Just as I was about to put the pix onto shutterfly, hubby came in the room, and verified that there is indeed a BIGger pirate playset, with at least one female pirate. And it was more expensive.

So there ya go. Two sets we're talking about.

Here's the one we got for 18.50 plus tax. That's my 3 year old's arm in the picture; he didn't quite understand that I wasn't intending to take pix of HIM, so he got in a bunch of 'em. :)
