I don't post on here a lot, but I've been googling party ideas, and have come to the conclusion that I'll get better ideas here than I'm finding there lol - I've been thinking about what to do for my 16th birthday party in March, and I've been thinking that a Pirates of the Caribbean party would be really cool, as I love the movies. I thought we could watch the movies, I could make "pirate-y" food, and play like capture the flag or something. Do you guys think this would be cool, or just stupid? And if you think it's cool, what games/activies would be fun? TIA!! pirate:

it all depends on what you and your friends like. my one friend had a 'throw back' party. she had one of those barbie dress cakes, had disney princess party favors etc... anything we used to like when we where younger, and we had a blast! what made it so great was that we didn't care that we where a bunch of high schoolers. so if you and ur friends will find it cool go for it

I think it would be cool.

If it's warm enough where you are, maybe you could incorporate stuff like water guns or water balloons into the party? They make everything 10x more fun.

Yeah, I live in the Northeast, so water balloons would be a little chilly haha but I would love to do that.. I think it would be a lot of fun :thumbsup2

Also, to go off of what Megan said, I think if you treat the cheesy stuff as you know it's cheesy but it's undeniably fun, it'll be received better than if you were dead serious about it.

That's true.. I'll keep thinking.. I may come up with something completely different in a few minutes lol But thanks for the advice and help! :goodvibes

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do - I'd love to do something Disney for my birthday, since it's my 16th birthday, and I love Disney :), but I don't know how much my friends will like it... I'm just trying to think of some theme that would please everybody.. most of my friends are interested in music and movies, I just don't know exactly which ones... So I don't know what to do

I probably would be iffy about it, but it depends on what your friends think!
I like your capture the flag idea, I love that game. I don't really have any ideas, because they'd all be for younger kids parties (dress up like a pirate, color pirate pictures, pirate goody bags, etc.). If you pull it off, I bet it will be a lot of fun (:

I hate how our society has made us afraid to have this or that kind of party just because of our peers.
If you want a Pirate party then for heavens sake have one!

I actually have a friend that had a Pirates of the Caribbean party for her 18th birthday and it was a lot of fun.
I mean honestly we're not talking napkins, paper plates, and a big cake with Jack Sparrow's face looming up.
I think it sounds like a really fun idea so I would do it.

Thanks for the encouragement :) I'll keep thinking, but I really do think it would be cool - you know, just watch the movies, play capture the flag, and everyone could come dressed as a favorite character from the movie :) It might be cheesy, but I think it will still be fun :goodvibes Thanks everybody! pirate:

I think it would be cool if your friends like that kind of stuff
