I have read some posts here about Pirate night on the 7 day cruises. Can someone give me some info? When we cruised in 1998 for 3 nights, I don't remember this, or else i am just getting very forgetful!

It's new this year and replaces the old Mexicali...night. I think it is on all of the cruises, not just the 7 day.

Pirates night is on all the cruises now. It replaced the mexicali and tropical nights. It was much better than the tropical night. We did it for the first time in May. One word to describe it: AWESOME!!!!

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but does everyone bring their own pirate outfits to wear? I just love the idea of this.

We brought Pirate costumes and had a blast. There were only a handful of people dressed up (mostly kids). A couple kids must have thought I was a CM. One kid walked by with his dad yelled out "Look Dad, a Pirate!". I turned and gave the kid a good old pirate "Arrgh!" pirate: , and he gave me an "Arrgh!" pirate: with a big grin on his face. Was lots of fun. Especially at the deck party. Don't miss the deck party.

I think word is getting out and more and more people are getting dressed for the event.

At dinner everyone gets Red head scarfs.

People do bring their own pirate clothes to wear. pirate: At dinner they do give you a red pirate scarf, lots of people who don't bring pirate clothes at least wear the scarves. At the deck party, everyone at least has the scarves on.
Our first pirate night we did not have clothes to dress up in :guilty: as the cruise was a last minute surprize :flower: from my DH and I didnt have time to plan. So I grabbed our pirates of the carribbean T-shirts we bought at WDW a long time ago. This December we are going again and I will have a complete outfit. :sunny: Luckily for the budget, pirate clothes are not new looking so I can go to thrift shops to look for faded out clothes. Then I may sew a few pirate patches on them and make the edges ragged looking. At halloween you can often buy eye patches and bulky jewely that should help. At WDW they have pirate scarves with Mickey ears on them. :earboy2: I may get some of those as we live close to WDW. Let your imagination run wild!!! More and more people are dressing up and that is what makes it so fun. :Pinkbounc I heard many people last cruise who did not dress up say how next time they were going to dress up and really join in on the fun.
Hope you have a magical cruise. :wave2:

Pirate Night is a blast! (this was how it was on the 6/11 West Coast cruise) The dining room staff is dressed up, the dinner menu is rolled up and made to look like a pirate map, everyone gets a red head scarf and there is a "Pirate parade" by the staff through the dining room after dinner. But be sure you don't miss the deck party! Be on deck 9 if you want to dance or up on deck 10 if you want a bird's-eye view. There's a big show w/the characters, music, and fireworks at the end! As if that's not enough, there's a big buffet afterwards with turkey legs, crepes, and other goodies. I couldn't possibly eat anything, but it was fun to look! I dressed up and it added to the fun.
