pirate cruise

We are thinking about doing the pirates cruise next December 2016 but I was wondering do they still have the cruise during the Christmas party? Do you see the fireworks and stuff? I have never done this but I think my kids will love it! any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When we did the Pirates & Pals Cruise in 2013, it was on a Christmas party night. And yes, we saw the Christmas party fireworks. We had a great time!

You're referring to the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, correct?

I can't attest as to whether or not it will run for the dates you want to go, but when my family did it, we LOVED it! Here's the order of events:

1. You sign in (preferably about half an hour before the event is scheduled to begin) and wait around in the lobby until it is scheduled to start. There are several activities for children such as coloring, scavenger hunts, etc.
2. You are ushered into the second area of the party. Here, you meet Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, have some desserts, and then meet your pirate hosts for the evening! I reccommend that you get in line for Hook and Smee first- the line gets pretty long and you don't want to be waiting in it for the bulk of that portion of the evening, or you won't have time to have dessert. They have cakes, free mickey premium ice cream bars/sandwiches, cotton candy, chocolate dubloons, etc. and POG juice
3. Soon enough, your pirate hosts will lead you to your respective boats. There's songs, jokes, and trivia while you wait for the shows to begin. You will have a wonderful view of not only the fireworks, but also the electrical water pageant.
4. When you return to the docks, there's another special character meet and greet planned out. I don't want to ruin it, but let's just say there's tons of pixie dust involved

The only downside (which I didn't mind) was that the dessert selection wasn't fantastic. If you're mostly going to be interested the desserts and fireworks, or your children aren't into pirates/character meet and greets, the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party might be a better choice for you. But the Pirates and Pals cruise was one of the highlights of my family's last trip.

thank you both - this does help. I was planning on doing it on one of the xmas party night since we will have to leave MK early that night. We have decided not to do the party - its just so expensive.

I highly recommend the cruise. Lots of fun & a great way to watch the fireworks. Very pretty view.

This is definitely new to me (I thought the question was going to be about the pirate cruise for kids that runs during the day)!!

Sounds interesting! We decided to go to Disney pretty late and well before booking windows opened. Before I go asking my group if they're interested and getting anyone's hopes up - is there any chance that I would find a spot for 8 the 3rd week in August at such a late date?

It's the best event in wdw , in our opinion !!!! We love it !! We are actually doing it twice this next trip
(July) !!!

Can anyone speak to how loud the fireworks are from the boat on this pirate adventure? Thank you.

WE are taking 3 kids, 11, 13 & 16. Would this be too young for them? They probably wont really care about meeting the characters but I thought the boat ride over all the and view of the fireworks/electric parade would be neat.

The m&g with the characters is minimal - you have Smee & Captain Hook that pretty much stand in the background and if you want to approach them for a photo op you can - then you have a special character greeting when the boats return. The Pirates that you spend the most time with are hysterical so IMO good for even the older kids and adults too
