WHATS THE DEAL ON THE DISNEY PIRATE CRUISE? I THINK THAT MY DS5 WOULD LOVE IT, BUT I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS AS GREAT AS IT SEEMS. I DON'T WANT HIM TO BE DISAPOINTED SINCE HUBBY, DS1 AND I WOULD BE OFF DOING OUR OWN THING FOR THE FEW HRS.
IYO IS IT WORTH THE TIME ON A 5 DAY TRIP?
THANKS EVER SO MUCH!

First of all the Pirate Cruise ROCKS!! I don't think there would be disappointment for anyone except those who can't go (adults and little ones). It is worth every penny and my boys LOVE IT.

That said, since you're only going on a 5 day trip I think it would really take too much time to schlep everyone around and try to accomodate everyone during the 2 hours of the cruise.

I would wait until you have more time, but it is GREAT!!! :thumbsup2

It's cool but not worth losing a half day of an already short vacation. With only five days you'll be very busy -- EPCOT for a long day, MGM for a day, AK for a day, and MK for two. You don't have that much time to spare!

I agree. Its a really great thing to do if you are there for longer than a week, or if you are frequent visitors. It is not, IMHO, worth doing on a short trip if you aren't frequent visitors. It takes a whole morning, which is prime park time.

If this is your son's second or third trip, you might want to give it a go. There are two, soon to be three. They all follow the same format - leaving from a resort marina, the "pirates" get part of a treasure map. They follow the map to find more pieces of the puzzle - stopping at other resort marinas where the kids get out of the boat (in the case of the one out of the Grand Floridan- the one out of the Y&BC stops in Epcot), eventually, they find a treasure chest full of treasure (treat bags with trinkets). They get lunch, my kids ate it on board once and were handed it getting off board once.
