Pirate Cruise Question

Our DS is curious to know what kind of treasure you find on the Pirate Cruise/Treasure Hunt that WDW offers. And, is this appropriate for an 8 yo? He'll be by himself ... and he's concerned that he'll be the only "single" child there. Thanks for any/all information!

I was wondering the same thing. From pictures that I have seen it look slike stuff you could get at Oriental Trading company or in a piniata. Little trinkets and such. Do a search for pictures and you might get an idea. Sorry I can not be more help.

If you do a search you should be able to find it. Janet2K did a trip report with her daughter that had descriptiopns of everything and even pictures of the treasure. It seemed the oriental trding pinata type stuff.

My son was 8 when he went for his cruise. He had a blast the other kids may have had family and friends with them but the CM made everyone feel like part of the group.

This is a must do for your son.

We've had kids ranging in age from 6-9 do this and they all loved it. The treasure is just little trinkets like the other poster said, but they still had tons of fun "digging" it up. The cutest part of this was the pirate hat/Mickey ears they get - and don't forget the eye patch adds the final touch. My DD still talks about this as one of her favorites.

Yes, they are all able to do the Pirate's Cruise. My DD was a month shy of her 5th birthday when she did the Cruise in September of 2004. She had a great time! There were kids of all ages and they pair everyone up with a partner. HTH
