I would love to do this for my girls aged 6 &9 on our upcoming trip, but before I book it I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer??!! Where/Can your children be picked up? Does it have to be at the Grand Floridian? Do they drop your children off at the same port they are picked up at or is there only one pick up spot? Do parents get pagers? Would you reccomend this adventure over all others that are offered?
TIA!!

My kids have done this twice and they loved it. The drop off point is at the GF. You put the life jackets on the kids and you get a pager when you check them in. You watch them get on the boat and then watch them as they pull away. You come back to the same spot to pick them up and you will know when they are coming because they are all singing/screaming. I feel it is totally safe and all the kids come back all excited. Then you will turn the pager in one at a time to the crew at the boat. Once you give then the pager they call your childs name and then give them their gift.Definatly worth doing. pirate:

Oh, this sounds fantastic. Only I think my hubby would LOVE this more than the kids. Where do you find out the info for this, I've never even heard of it.

The disney pirate adventure departs from the GF it lasts about 2 hours you are given a pager. my dd9 didnt really care for it but my ds8 loved it at the end they give them lunch and a buried treasure. candy jewels toys ect.

I heard that there is another jester cruise that they just started. You have to book well ahead because this and the albercatere cruise are only for certain days and book fast. We couldnt get into any of the cruises until the day before and I had to call and call. pirate:

My children both loved the wonderland tea party at the GF..We also did the my disney girl tea at the GF. I almost died from the cost of that 199.00 but the smile on my daughters face was priceless. :cloud9: princess:

My two dd's have done the GF pirate cruise several times and really liked it. They have done all of the Grand Adventures for kids. I think they like the fact that they get to go by themselves! I also did the My Disney Girl Tea party and loved every minute of it (except for the price). My dd's did the Albatrose Cruise in December, they enjoyed it as well.

What are the names of the cruises that are at POR/FQ and the BW area? Or am I totally losing my mind in thinking there are some there?

There's the Albatross (?) Cruise, it's from the YC I think, and there is one at one of the PO as well, I think that's the Jester one. Haven't heard much about that one, but i also read there is another new one at CBR as well.

I would love to know if there is any way I can take pictures of my boys on the Pirate Cruise? I know I can't go with them, but is there a way for this scrapbook addict to get any pictures of it?

Give one of your kids a disposable camera and see if they can take some pics for you while on the island.

the albatross cruise fromt he Y & B was a great hit with my son! He has done the GF one twice, but this was something else!

They get to go into Epcot before it opens and go into some of the pavillions looking for parts of a treasure map! He loved it! I think he went to Mexico and somewhere else.. not entirely sure as 5 year olds boys dont tell you anything!!

There are plenty of photo ops at the dock at the Grand Floridian. Get there right as soon as the marina opens at 9:00. Hardly anyone else will be there. Check your little pirate in and then there's a very nice background of Cinderella's Castle for picture taking.

Your child is very, very, very safe. My daughter-in-law was freaking that her child would be "taken" from her for two hours. Once she saw how Disney handled everything, she totally relaxed. She said she should just leave it to Disney to make things safe. You are given a receipt AND a pager. You need both to get your child back. Drops offs and picks ups are made in the same spot.

One thing - make sure your kids use the bathrooms before boarding the pirate ship. Nothing like two hours on a boat with a kid that needs to go to the bathroom!
