Hi,
Thinking of letting my 4.5 yo go on the pirate cruise at GF.

My question, is what shall I do while I wait for her? The cruise is 2 hrs long. We're staying at WL. I don't think 2 hrs is quite enough time for me to go to MK or anywhere. I'm not familiar w/ GF. I'm not to use their pool.

Other than just taking a book & reading in the lobby, is there anything else for me to do?

Thanks,

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

My 6 year old son just did the pirate cruise this past June while we were at DW. First off the cruise itself is just great. There is a Cafe in the GF that you could eat at but we were not really impressed with their menu. My DH and I and our other DS took the monorail to the Contemp. to eat breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse...YUMMY:) It was just about perfect. By the time we got there ate and then took the monorail back we had about 10 minutes or so to wait for the kids to come back. You could also just travel around to the three monorail resorts and do some shopping. Just some ideas. Either way just have fun and enjoy your time:)

We are sending our three in October. Since they have moved up the time to 9:30 to 11:30 I agree with IndyMom1 - use this time for some uniterrupted shopping or a quiet breakfast. It may be one of your only opportunities for down time and I would not waste it rushing around to get somewhere that might be too far and worrying about not being back on time.

I hope your daughter enjoys the cruise - my children do not know about it - it is a suprise ending to our trip!

While my daughter attends the GF's children's events, I usually grab a bite to eat at the snack bar and then sit outside at the marina and enjoy the fresh air. If the weather isn't the greatest (cold or rainy), I wander through the gift shops (there is more than one) or sit in the lobby and people-watch/read. The GF is a lovely resort to relax in. (Click here for some photos of the GF's children's events.)

My daughter will be at all three of the GF's children's events this Fall. Even though we're staying at the GF, I plan on doing what I stated above (enjoying the resort's grounds, marina, lobby, and gift shops). I hope you have a wonderful time at the GF while your child is living it up on the seven seas (lagoon, that is). :D

Oh, my goodness! Where are my manners? Welcome to the Dis, Kimberle and 3for Me. ;)

They moved up the time? I have my ds' booked in October, I thought it was at 9:15, hmmm...maybe I should call just incase. I am going to hop on the monorail and go to the MK for some shopping and browsing down Main Street. I figure if it's 3 hours, I'll have at least 2 hours to myself at the MK. YEAH!

I am traveling with my husband, mother and 5 year old daughter. I tend to be an over-planner...my mother and my husband are going parasailing at 9:30am, and I am taking my DH to the GF for the Pirate Cruise and get a pedicure at the Spa while I am waiting. It is the only time I will get any time to myself and it will be guilt-free!

Donna, when you make your spa reservation, request Mandy--she does really nice work :)

You better call! The duration is 2 hours. Still enough time to have some fun at MK, but someone is not going to be happy if you're not back at GF when the cruise is over. (Hint: they wear a badge...)

My wife and I went to the MK and walked down Main Street holding hands while not having to keep an eye on our 2 kids. Now that was cool. Then we rode HM and returned to the GF and had coffee sitting outside till the "Pirates" returned. Very relaxing.

What is the nimber? Is the dining number? I would love to sign up my ds for oct. He would tottaly love it!!!

Thanks!

I just made a PS for my dd to go. The # is 407-939-3463, the same # for your other PS's.

CM said we have to be at the marina 9:15 and the boat returns at 11:30 - 3 hours! I thought it was just 2. I guess that gives me time to shop a bit at MK.

I know my dd will have a blast!! I think the price is pretty reasonable, too, $28.17 + tax (abt $30, I'd guess).
