Hi there. We have our trip scheduled for May and with the added dates of the Pirate pirate: and Princess princess: party, we were considering buying tickets. My girls will be 3 and 5 at the time we travel. Will they enjoy it at that age or is it a waste of $$$? Thanks in advance for your help!

we took the kids last year they were 2,4,6 my older dd did the BBB that day and they were both dressed in princesses, loved seeing all the princess although the lines can be very very long to see them, can they stay awake that long or will they carsh in the stroller at 8 and not get back up??? My kids can be night owls w/o a problem, so we plan to go again this year.

The oldest one would stick it out to the bitter end or die trying, the little one may crash and burn, but that might make it easier (as I won't have to chase her all over the place.):rolleyes1

We went in August and my 3 y.o. niece loved it. She's a real night owl and managed to stay up and going for the whole thing (but she did crash in the carriage before we made it out of the park). We all had a great time. It wasn't sold out the night we went and I really liked the short (or no) wait times for the rides. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

We're going in May too! I didn't know that the pirate and princess party was going to be in May, how exciting! What are the dates?

We did the P&PP twice last year (March and August).

For the March one our boys were ages: 7, 5, turned 3 the day after the party (so he was free for the party yay!), and 11 months. The older 3 stayed up til the end and we had a blast!! We watched the first parade and of course the wonderful fireworks, and we did the treasure spots. We did some rides and they were walk on, even Pirates of the Caribbean which we thought would be busy. The only line we waited in was to meet Captain Jack, we waited about 45 minutes for him, and it was totally worth it. My older two got his autograph and he let all of the boys take a piece of his treasure (there were plastic coins). Our youngest fell asleep as it got late, so we just took turns carrying him and kept on going.

In August our boys were ages: 7.5, 5.5, 3, and 16 months. Again the older 3 stayed up til the very end. This time we decided to meet Pirate Mickey and Pirate Donald, which also had about a 45 minute line. We figured we'd sitck with ONE meet and greet since those lines are so long. And we did all the other stuff again. Youngest fell asleep towards the end again which was anticipated and fine.

But your youngest is 3 so she might make it til late like our 3 yr old did?! Whenever we do parties we plan a sleep in morning and easy morning the day of the party (and the morning after the party). That way we all have plenty of energy to stay up later. We don't go to any parks before the party. But we do go to the party before the official start time, usually around 4 or 5.

I will say that IMO doing the late parties like this and needing to have an easy day that day and allow for sleeping in the next day does take away some other touring time... If you need those early mornings in the parks to get things done, then maybe the party isn't a good idea. Know what I mean? But if you have gone before and will go again, and you are able to give up two mornings, then you would be fine. I imagine that others might do it differently than we do too. I suppose another way to do it would be to still get up that morning and hit a park early, but then go back to your room and all of you (or at least the kids) take a nap so you're ready for the long evening. My older 3 would never nap in the afternoon so that wouldn't work for us. Sleeping in does though. And everyone needs to sleep in the next day at least a little bit.

Good luck! :)

Lots of info about the party is here:

2008 Pirate & Princess Party SCHEDULE:

January: 21, 26, 29
February: 2, 5, 9, 14, 22, 26
March: 1, 6, 11, 14
April: 1, 4, 6, 11, 16, 23, 29
May: 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 21, 26, 31
June: 4

Here's the thing, the only "official" dates are the ones through March, the others are not posted on the Disney website, and they are not selling tickets to them yet. :sad1: Here's to hoping that they will actually extend the dates and we can all get tickets in May! :thumbsup2
Now I have to re-think my ADR's for that night.:sad2: We were planning Cindy's Royal Gala at the GF at 6pm. I might switch it up for another night, or try to make it earlier.

We are doing the PPP in January with DD who is almost 5. It will be the last thing we do before we leave so she will be able to sleep in the car all the way home the next day. I do plan to have her back at the hotel for a late afternoon nap that day too. If she naps for 2 hours late in the afternoon (say 3:30 - 5:00 pm) then she will probably make it to midnight or at least 10 pm. Although I am expecting her to be pretty tired throughout the trip so who knows. We are going mainly for the character interaction.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for your input Liz. :) If my little one naps in the afternoon, she may be able to stay awake for most of the party. There is virtually no chance that my oldest will nap :sad2:, but like I said in a previous post, she'll push through it. We'll most likely sleep in (a little) the next day.

I had no idea this might be on when we go until today .. we'll be there April 5th- 19th .. My DD will be 9 when we go but she is a HUGE Princess fan and i would like to take her .. we're not staying onsite, does that make a difference? Do you do it as a family? Or do the kids go off? Would love to hear from anybody who's been????
Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

I have just phoned and tried to book for April and was told it was finishing end of March .. am still ever hopeful and will try again before we go hahahaha

Does anyone know if I can purchase tickets down there or do I need to purchase before we go? We are going in 18 days!!!!! We are planning on going but I'd like the option to wait until I get down there to see how my 2yo does. I know it is $2 more the buy them down there but does it ever sell out or anything?

Thanks!
