I am looking for reports on the pirate adventurespirate: that are held at the Beach Club, POR, GF, and CBR. I was thinking about doing the one at CBR because it seems to be the best day for us. However the one that seems to get the most reviews is the one at the Beach Club.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

My 7 year old son went to the one at CBR last December. We are from England so he had never seen anything like this before. He said a fews days before that he wouldn't go. We didn't go on about it and took him along on the morning fully expecting him to refuse to go. As soon as he saw the 2 guys dressed as pirates he never looked back. I literally had to run after him to say goodbye. He absolutely loved it. My DH and I just sat outside the food place drinking tea and we could see the boat most of the time. (Still too paranoid to leave him completely). He loved all the stuff they got and still has it now. We were there for 3 weeks and I tried to get him booked on another one but they were sold out. We are there 3 weeks this Decemebr so I will try and book atleast 2. So all in all, I highly recommend

Ours did the GF one, my 5 year old loved it was so please with all his treasure still plays with it now. I worried about letting him go but it was worth it to see how much fun he had.

My then 6 year old went on the one at GF and he loved it! He went on and on about it after it was over. He said that even though there weren't any "real" pirates, it was fun to sail around and pretend.

When you say "not staying there" - do you mean at the resorts that have the pirate adventure? If so, then no- you can book a pirate trip at any resort you choose. And remember, that POR/POFQ has a "jester" boat trip, and that CBR has their own cruise for kids too - I don't remember what theirs is called though. Last year we stayed at POR and booked the cruise at GF. Just call 1-407-WDW-PLAY.

Went to POR last Nov and they changed the jester cruise to a pirate cruise like the other resorts. My 2 kids, 6 and 4, loved it. We watched them cruise back, dressed in pirate gear and singing pirate songspirate: ; it was a hoot!:lmao: When they got back to the dock, they all went to the lobby for the last stop--a pirate trunk full of treasure. I would be willing to bet that all the resort pirate cruises are very similar, so go with the one wherever you are staying at.

We've stayed at the CBR twice and saw the Pirate Cruises both times. The kids were so cute. They had on their bandanas and eye patches. We rented the small boats and every time we would pass the pirate cruise pontoon boat, the kids would raise their fists at us and yell ARRGHHH! They stopped the boat and we saw the kids on the beach looking for treasure.

If you think you're child(ren) might be a bit shy about going on the cruise, I think the CBR cruise would be a good one to choose. The CBR lake is not very large and, like a previous poster said, you can pretty much see the cruise boat the whole time.

And, if you aren't staying at the CBR but want to explore, there are things for the parents to do while the kids are on the cruise. The food court has some nice foods to choose from. The Banana Cabana is the pool bar. The store has a nice selection of merchandise to choose from. Don't miss checking out the coconut postcards. They make a unique souvenier. The new main pool is being constructed and you could take pictures of the construction to send back to us! Ha! The promenade walks around the entire resort and you could check out the resort and all the pretty landscaping. The island in the middle of the lake has picnic tables, hammocks and benches and is a nice place to relax.

Our kids (7 and 10) did the CBR one in Dec and LOVED it. There were only 8 kids including them along with two CMs that were absolutely amazing with the kids. I think great value is offered for what the kids experienced. They also received a great loot bag including a card that says :

"Honorary pirate of the day. This card entitles you to a magical day at the Disneys Caribbean beach resort" .

Can anyone confirm that other pirate cruises also give out the same card? We would like to book the kids on the POR one next trip and hope they get the same card in their loot bag.

I called a review of the POR cruise into the podcast back in January. Dd was 6yo and ADORED it! Keeps telling us how it was her favorite thing she did from our entire trip!

We are going back in July for her birthday and she picked another cruise over going to BBB! This time she's doing the one at GF.

I really want my kids to do this cruise and they want to as well, but DD has a life threatening peanut allergy and the PBJ sandwiches they serve for lunch scare the heck out of me.

I've spoken with WDW catering and while DD won't get the PBJ sandwich, they can't make it a peanut free cruise.

Any ideas for me? Suggestions? Do they eat on the boat or on land?

I think they eat on the boat, but not 100% sure.

Our DS did this the last two years and had a blast, last year Captain Hook himself was chasing them!
They have a light lunch and tromp in the World Showcase and come out with a big smile on their faces and a fist full of pirate loot.
There used to be a really nice gentleman running the show and I can't remember his name, it was an unusaual name but anyways he was great with the kids, as were the rest of the CMs. We highly recommend it.:thumbsup2

I would think you could pack your child a lunch and advise the pirate cruise staff of the allergy.

I would let everyone and their brother know about the life threatening allergy when you book the cruise and then when you drop your child off. WDW is fantastic about food allergies! Pack your child a lunch and let them know that it has to be kept separate from the other lunches. It would help if you dropped if off with them in one of those cooler/lunchboxes and made sure they stored your child's lunch in a different part of the boat too.

Also, check out the DISabilites forum in the section on allergies and maybe ask there if anyone else has done the cruise and what their experiences were with food allergies.

No need to pack them a lunch... the CMs will make sure that there is a separate sandwich for your dd.

On dd's cruise there was a mom who requested a different meal for her son... she originally made it sound like he was allergic to the PB (saying he "can't" have the PB&J, etc) but it turned out he just didn't like it. The CMs actually had someone run inside to the POR foodcourt and grabbed a turkey wrap for him instead.

You may want her lunch stored separately from the others (although the PB&Js are Uncrustables and they are in sealed packages).

Dd mentioned to me at one point that they ate on the boat on the way back from DTD... but the boat is large enough I'm sure they could seat your dd w/ the CMs to avoid contamination.

Maybe send her with a travel pack of baby wipes so everyone can wash their hands after eating?

Thank you to all for all your replies. This all really helps. I have a daughter who will be 3 yrs and 10 months old when we visit(she is potty trained) Will i be able to book her on for the cruise too?????

Is there any other activities such as the cruise for kids?????

Our son has done 3. He got a hat and treasure on all three cruises, but all three hats were different. He also had the same PB&J lunch on all three. The GF was the largest crew. The Albatross at the YC seems to have the most interesting treasure hunt locations. Our son loved each and every one. I would go with the one you can get that fits best into your plans. Here are some photos:
