Amanda, I think that all of us understand what it's like to give up real world friends for a special needs child. It's a decision that all of us have made to some extent. I know that I have one real world friend that I am close to. The rest have become more distant since we got so involved with doctor's appointments, hospitalizations, meds, treatments, feedings, etc. I am so glad to have found all of you. I think we need a new thread called "Post Wish Trippers" so that we can all keep in touch long after our TR's.

I'll be so glad to meet some of you week after next!

Hurray! You got your camera and Camille really didn't run away with the money and go to Mexico!!!! But anyway- now you officially have a rockin camera to go to the World with and take many, many, many pictures with- and I expect to see them all when you get back! Even the blurry one of Piper spinning around furiously on the teacups!

Now- I think we all need to take a collection to get them a quicker internet connection! That dial-up is a pain! I lived with it forever..... yikes.

Have fun with your camera! And you should also have one more little surprise coming in too. Nothing major, just something I made for you and Piper.

LOL! I am actually planning to start packing today! Normally I wouldn't even have a list yet, so I'm doing well! (Nope, not rationalizing..lolol) I think I'm going to have to pull a Stefanie and post a list on here, and change the color as things get done. I'll do that as soon as I finish packing. Seriously though..I am going to start today..my living room is driving me nuts with all the piles. This way it will all be piled in a bag..that's progress, right?

10 days until your trip!! You guys must be excited!! I have loved seeing your pictures...Take lots with your new camera, I can't wait to see them!!!

I was just reading the 1st page of your PTR and what you went thru to get a diagnosis....My OB/GYN started testing for CF pre-natally in 1997-98. My husband and I are the 1st couple they ever had that both were carriers (no family history on either side). I had amnio's with all my pregnancies to find out in they had CF, so we would know early and not have to go thru that. So at 3 weeks of age when Brian was eating almost a quart of formula a day and not gaining weight, we didn't switch formula we started enzymes.

Sorry to bring 'down' your PTR, just when people ask why test?? Because the are important.

And I love the picture of Piper sleeping with nebulizer!! Next time save your back and let her sleep on the couch!!!!

LOL @ Camille running away to Mexico! Ermm..not so sure about the teacups, as Mommy doesn't have a good history with spinning rides *I can't even ride flying swings* but we'll see! IF we do, it will definitely be a one-ride deal! What is it with all the packing jokes??? You would think I'm some kind of procrastinator or something :

We are so excited, Mary, and the camera was such a wonderful surprise! You didn't bring the PTR down at all..thank goodness CF is included in mandatory newborn testing now. That could save so many people so much stress. I thought about letting her sleep on the couch, but I'm picky about her head position when she sleeps and I knew she would stay scrunched up like that all night. I like that airway open! Prob a bigger deal when she's actually sick, but it's just habit now.
