Thank you ladies so much, Piper loved everything in the package. She immediately sat down and started to read the comic book! Everything was a huge hit.. :

Oh my goodness!!! I love it all!! I keep signing in all day and night just to see what else Piper got in her Big Bive! This is only me and Aleks second Big Give, but we love it and I love that she gets to make someone else's day just a little bit brighter. It also rocks for her, cause she got the world's greatest pen pal from this Big Give according to her! She said to tell her BFFO "hi!"

Okay, just had a bit of a moment. We're just sitting here watching Olympics and doing meds when suddenly Piper pops out with.. "Mom, when we go to the Bippity Boppity Boutique, can I get done as Jasmine?" Now..we had discussed BBB MONTHES ago..literally..and her response was a resounding "no". The good thing is, we have the great Jasmine outfit Nanci had sent for her.. I guess I need to go to the website now and see how much the service would be if we provide the outfit, and then try to get a reservation. I have to admit I am mixed on this..a part of me is saying "hooray, another turning back the clock to childhood moment" and the other part of me is worried about getting a reservation. I can take the fee out of our souvenir money. I'll update you all with what I find out.

Amanda you might want to consider having her dress as Jasmine but just stopping by the Main Street Barber shop where they will do a quick "do" for her (usually a pony but not positive, I imagine they will work with you) and then colored gel of her choice and pixie dust. I don't know how much it is for just the pixie dust do but it was only $14 for a killer boys haircut AND pixie dust, far cheaper than BBB!

While we were there adult women popped in and they did just the "dust" (hairspray and the sparkles/confetti) for free mid haircuts and updo's!

It was a GREAT experience.

Here are some pics of the women who got the up-do's (pony, gel and dust) I didn't get a picture of the others as they literally sprayed, sprinkled and sent them on their way!

It's $8 or so, I think just for the pixie dust treatment, I had researched all this when we first started planning, and that's when I had asked Piper about it. I looked up BBB just now, and with us providing the costume it would be $50 for hair and make-up, or 55 for hair, make-up and nails. Ordinarily I would balk at that, but with this being her special trip, and having money saved up, if it's something she'd really like to do I'll try to get the reservations. I tried tonight, but they stop taking calls at 10pm. I thought about explaining that it's 50 that could be spent on other things, and she could get the same type thing done for 8, leaving more souvenir money, but I have to be honest and tell you, I get tired of doing that to her, and I don't want to do that to her on this trip if I don't have to. There are very few things she asks for because she does know our budget is tight (though not how tight). We will have a talk about her souvenir budget before we go, but after that it's going to be entirely in her hands what she wants to spend it on, though I might tell her to think about something for an hour if it's very expensive, or something I think she'd never use again. LOL..I'm all leaking now..for the most part I think I deal with it well, but it does get to me at times. Anyway, thank you, it's def what we'll do if I can't get her into BBB, we had thought about it, but I hadn't seen a lot of pics from there, and I appreciate your posting them.

No worries! I bet you'll find she will be really good with the $$. Our kids had a budget last year and with a couple of "are you sure's" in there from us, they did well with how they spent it and didn't ask for more. I was pleasantly surprised!

Amanda, I don't know how much time you'll be able to get away from MK to do this (I'm assuming you would want to do it there in the Castle and don't blame you if you do) but I was thinking the DTD BBB would probably have more room to take her in incase you can't get in at the Castle. Just thought I would let you know. I would think this time of the year you shouldn't have a problem getting into it at the castle though. I just didn't want you to stress.
Also check and see if they do the Jasmine look, they may not and that may make her decision about doing BBB easier. JAT=just a thought

I kinda smirked at what Piper said. Tessa is all about stringing me along, yes, no, yes, no, ARGH!!! I'm sure Piper didn't do it to frustrate you. Maybe she has read so much about it at this point that she doesn't remember her initial reaction. You might tell her that it's not booked yet, show her the pixie dust do, and ask her if she'd like that one or the other one (what do they do besides makeup and fake ponytails?). She may choose BBB just from the name, or she may surprise you. If it's the photo shoot she wants there are other ways to get that. GKTW does makeup now too. I'm just wondering what part of the experience she is most attracted to and if you can get that anywhere else, just in case. Let us know what happens.

I hadn't even thought about DTD just because of the time element. If we can't get in at BBB, or they don't do Jasmine, I will def steer her towards the barber shop. I'm not stressing too much now..she just caught me off guard big-time with that one! LOL. As Melissa said, below, kids can be known to do that!

She specifically mentioned the "Boutique"..I swear that girl is like a sponge..she absorbs everything..I just wished the "squeeze" had happened a month ago! I think I need to give it some serious thought tonight.

Too cute, Wendy! I am uploading pics for you right now..when we were opening your package Thurs night, the batteries on my camera went out. So we got out Piper's new little camera, I snapped away, then when I installed the software and tried to hook it up, it deleted half the pics I had taken! So I made her put everything on again tonight, and as soon as the pics upload, I'll post them! I just didn't want you to think I had forgotten about you!

I'm late in the game here with the BBB discussion. All I can say is that kids CAN be fickle and throw some really doozies out there. Glad you're feeling better about the whole thing, and are still open to all the options out there. Surprisingly, there are a lot of ways to do this, and fall into all kinds of price ranges.

Thanks, Liesa. It was prob a $10,000 expression on my face if anyone had caught it on video! I didn't say anything to her when she said it even as the wheels started turning in my head, LOL. About 30 sec after she said it, I said "I thought you didn't want to do BBB, honey." I got the obvious answer..I changed my mind. lol. I'll work something out one way or another, it's just way too petty too stress over!

My girls don't even know that BBB exists, and frankly I'm not sure either one would enjoy it. Phoebe HATES people messing with her hair, and Tessa would get bored after 30 seconds. I have thought about the Barber shop, just because I think it would be fun to be sparkly, or maybe even buying some glitter spray and do it myself? Anyone know where to get that type of thing when it's not Halloween?

Lindsey had a Jasmine makeover at the castle BBB in 2008. It was really magical. I've never called and been turned away from BBB. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get an opening.

Anyone know where to get that type of thing when it's not Halloween?

We have stores here that sell party supplies, rent costumes etc. They have a huge selection of this type of stuff. Maybe Oriental Trading or some place like that would have it??

Thanks, LeeAnn..I'll call in the morning and see what I can work out. The good thing is we're completely flexible on the time. I haven't ever cancelled Park Fare either, we'll wait and see what our spending money looks like once we get the check from the chapter.

They are totally amazing people, Lisa. : Thank you, she can be very adorable, my trick for some pics is telling her something to laugh at right before I take the pic.. ie.. "imagine you met Aladdin and he said he was dumping Jasmine so he can marry you". It does the trick every time.
